This is what the blurb read: "If you like curvy girl BBW romance with some BDSM power play between a sexy photographer and a Dominatrix you'll love this book!". Yeah, except none of that actually happens in the book. Dani is a Domme, but wants to keep it secret from Grant (who already seems to know?), so she spends most of the time internally agonizing if she's vanilla or not.
Dani just acted so stupid most of the time, not getting the hint that Grant is crazy about her, even though he's practically drooling over her. Not to mention her running away in a hurricane, because the sexual tension is too much for her.
There's a whole subplot about Grant and his business. One minute he's rich, then he's broke, then it seemed not to matter anymore? I was confused.
There's another book about these characters, but I'm not interested enough to continue.
Author: Aidy Award
This was as first read for my by this author. Aidy Award is a really good author but I had some cringe worthy moments when I hit several spots where grammar or the words used were incorrect. This book really needed a second eye to spot the mistakes that were painfully obvious to me.
However, with that being out of the way, the plot and story line were very well done. The characters were likable and fun. Aidy Award really embraces the body positive/sex positive position that I have been reading so much of here lately and being a bigger woman myself I can appreciate a story line like this.
Danica is a strong and independent woman who fancys herself a Dominatrix. However, is that really what her calling is or is she hiding herself and her true desires behind this controlling persona that she has created?
Grant is on the verge of taking over his family's company and he is trying to make a point to the board that he is ready to take things into the modern world. This means making the publications more diverse for all.
There are laughs and action. Several sexual encounters mostly over a period of a day but none-the-less hot as heck.
I am looking forward to reading more from Aidy Award, I am just hoping the next books have been proofread better than this one.
I found myself skimming almost the entire story after she ran from the treehouse because it was so far fetched and ridiculous. Not to mention the editing-rather lack of editing was hard to ignore.
Also, I felt like I was getting preached at most of the book. I don’t read romance to read someone’s attempt at psychology.
The characters had so much potential for so much more than they were given. A confident strong bbw lead was what I was expecting, but got the opposite. Grant went from sexy charismatic to nothing but a pitiful pushover accepting nothing but mere scraps from the heroine.
Dani or Danica we have met in earlier books...Or I met in earlier books. I was not sure of the book order so I was gifted a book then i just started reading them. LOL. Dani is a strong dominate female so of course she is a Domme at Devils and Angels’s BDSM club. But there seems to be a problem with her and her subs. While she is not looking for a long term commitment, she is looking for a sub who will hang around for her to train and stay a while. But lately that has not been happening.
Dani has been advised to take a vacation and try some vanilla living and see where that leads her.
And boy does it lead her to a wonderful person and who knows maybe just maybe he be into kink too.
Great book in fact all her books are great!
I recommend this book to any who love to read about different type of characters. For 18+. Mature language and sexual scenes.
