Cyber Ella: This story is set up as a blog post in a women's website. Our girl is Keesha Jones, assigned to report on a new dating site called MeetCute. The site is an adorable concept, members pick animal avatars and meet in a virtual reality where they can chat, dance, and maybe set up a real life date. The animal avatars lead to all sorts of cute puns, and had me laughing out loud. The blog post concept was incredibly well done.
Rescue: This story stars Mikey, a handsome rookie fireman, low man on the totem pole at his fire station. The fire station has just received its fund raiser calendars, and Mikey is a bit down because he wasn't selected for the calendar. Or maybe because he's tired of being teased about it. He takes a call from Janine who needs help rescuing a cat, and her job is on the line. Janine, plucky, irritating, and adorable, is exactly what Mikey needs. I was really impressed at how much personality the author put into each of the firefighters, and the little touches that fleshed it out so well.
Really, if you're still reading this, stop reading the reviews and buy it. So worth it!
Well written, and light. I will definitely look into more work from this author.
I received this book for free and I am leaving my honest review.
