I tried the gloves out at my local batting cage, and I had a good experience. I own a cheap pair of batting gloves from long ago, and compared to the Cutters Prime Hero, the Cutters were simply better overall. A major difference is the leather on the palm area ~ my old gloves used thicker leather that sometimes felt like it was sliding over my palm if I didn't grab the bat just right. The Prime Hero's leather is thinner, giving the impression that it was stretched over my palm, and it stayed in place throughout the session. I found that I was able to focus better on hitting the ball and moving the bat vs fiddling with my grip. After a few dozen hits, my hands felt fine. The gloves provided an exceptional level of feel, and I was happy with my performance.
1) It should be noted that, these gloves are not heavily padded, so they won't work particularly well for shock absorbing duties.
2) These might not be bad for golf...though they might look peculiar on a golf course!
3) I took a star off because I felt the seams at the fingertips were a bit uncomfortable after 30 minutes or so. I have longer fingers and perhaps I should have tried the XL size?
The C-TACK actually does improve your grip. As an extra test I just gently laid my hand on the keyboard tray on my desk and moved it back. With bare hands and normal gloves the hand just slid over the tray, but with the Prime Hero gloves the tray actually pulled out. It was almost like a mild adhesive was connecting my hand to the tray.
These do not provide as much shock absorption as some other gloves, but using a wooden baseball bat and an aluminum softball bat these held up well enough.
The gloves secure well and are also insanely comfortable. The inside is padded, the fingers don't "twist" as much as other gloves I've used, and the inner seams are much less tactile here than in other gloves I've used.
The back of the glove "breathes" very well, but this is also my main quip with the glove: there's virtually no heavy fabric on the back, and none at all over the knuckles. In fact, when you make a fist, your knuckles stretch the extremely thin fabric, meaning this will wear out a lot quicker than other gloves. When you pick this glove you're definitely picking more comfort and a better grip at the expense of longevity. It also goes without saying that the lack of heavy material on the back won't protect you much from pitches that are just a tad inside.
Overall, though, nitpicking the protection back of the gloves is a relatively minor complaint. These are excellent gloves and will serve you well as long as you pick the right size.
