Bob Gourley has written the definitive book on explaining the ends and outs of the cyber threat. He takes a complex topic and breaks it down into manageable and understandable language. This book provides an excellent foundation for anyone on an issue that the intelligence community has stated in their yearly report to Congress the top national security threat to the United States. The challenge with cyber threat is that it presents a challenge not just to governments but to all aspects of our society. A must read for the times.
This book offers a concise overview of cyber security and the thinking one has to have to address it correctly for any business. It also highlights key cyber attacks with lessons learned and provides a list of key information security books, websites and organizations for further research. As a security professional for almost 30 years, I thought that the author did a nice job of collecting a significant body of cyber security knowledge and resources into one place. Definitely take the time to read it and make sure to leverage the information provided in the appendices. :-)
This book does a great job of introducing the general populous and those interested in working the cyber threat challenge. Bob provides a significant value of information on the subject in words that are understandable by all.
A relatively excellent read of what is coming in the very near future, its too bad that so few citizens take out the time to read up on the Cyber Threat that exist and is yet to come in ever increasing volume and frequency
While I have worked with the cyber threat for over a decade, this is still a great book, and helps to explain the problem to others. Should be retired reading for anyone with a requirement for taking care of others, in business or government service.
