The CyberPower Smart App LCD OR700LCDRM1U provides battery backup
For network servers, telecom installations, and VoIP systems
A rackmount UPS with line interactive topology, the CyberPower Smart App LCD OR700LCDRM1U provides battery backup, power protection, and surge protection for corporate servers, department servers, storage appliances, network devices, and telecom installations. The OR700LCDRM1U uses Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR) to correct minor power fluctuations without switching to battery power, which extends battery life. Why You Need It
When power goes out for even a second it can result in data loss and hardware damage which can shorten equipment life expectancy. This battery backup unit provides sufficient emergency runtime power to allow for safe closure of open files and proper shut down of electronics when an outage occurs. In addition, it safeguards electronics from commonly occurring power surges caused by storms, activity on the power grid, or high-powered equipment turning on and off. Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR) stabilizes incoming voltage, preventing chronic problems caused by minor but frequent power fluctuations.
Provides backup power and surge protection for corporate and departmental servers, telecom equipment, VoIP and Internetworking hardware requiring pure sine wave output, and Active PFC power source compatibility. Safeguards valuable documents, image files and connected equipment from loss or damage due to power fluctuations and surges, as well as uncontrolled equipment shutdown caused by power interruptions.
Power Management Software
PowerPanel Business Edition software provides IT professionals with the tools they need to easily monitor and manage their backup power. This advanced software allows users remote access from any network PC with a web browser to instantly access vital UPS battery conditions, load levels, and runtime information as well as provide graceful unattended shut down of network computers and virtual machines connected to a battery backup during a power event. Power alerts can be set up to send notifications though email, text, or instant message.

Top Customer Reviews
What 500VA protects for me:
-TrippLite Surge protector
-24 Port switch
-5 Port POE Switch
-2 RPi 2/3 Models
This is a lot of stuff to provide power to, so some stuff once a little reconfigured will only be powered to the surge and not the backup, so I should see an increase in back up time allowed.
Also I much prefer the personal edition of their mgmt software. The business version is hard to use and buggy. The self test actually crashed the app.
Rating updated from One Star to Two Stars:
After finally getting in touch with CyberPower support it may have been just as productive to stay on hold with the looping classical music (see original review below). CyberPower support was completely worthless. In fact, the guy I talked to seemed annoyed by my audacity to call them trying to find a solution to the insane noise the unit was making. So, ZERO stars for CyberPower Support.
SOLUTION TO THE NOISE ISSUE: (pay attention CyberPower support team)
The solution to the noise issue is pretty simple. Unplug your unit (leave whatever you have running on it plugged in) and let the UPS run down to 1%. Plug it back in, let it charge fully and then unplug it again running it down to 1%; plug it back in. Problem solved (for me anyway). Stopped making the noise that day and has not made it since. Should I have known this? I didn't read it anywhere in the literature.
I give the unit 2 Stars; it serves its intended purpose and it is quiet since I solved the grinding noise issue, but the two issues below cost three stars. The misleading description is intentional in my opinion and dishonest (-2 Stars). Poor support (-1 Star).
The description of the product is misleading; for it to be "Smart App" and "SNMP/HTTP" capable requires a $185 "optional" Remote Management Adapter, a total rip off for basically a 10/100 network adapter.
CyberPower support is a joke; a very rude joke. Not helpful, not friendly, and apparently NOT THERE for the last two hours of the workday.
So my OR500LCDRM1U makes all sort of "GRINDING", "MOANING and "GROANING" sounds and it has gotten progressively worse. I bought the unit 11 months ago. I came back to Amazon to read some reviews and see if others had similar issues, which of course, they did. When I first installed this unit it did not make these noises. It took a few weeks and when it first started, and it was very slight. Now, several months later, I have to close three doors between this unit and my master bedroom so I don't hear this thing. I have this device installed in my personal home network 9U cabinet. It's powering: 1 modem, 1 router, 2 switches and 1 NVR. Should be no problem. Load status shows 30%; I have 28 minutes of backup battery when I remove power.
To hopefully get some help I used the LiveExpert connect feature on the product page. Some info about that according to the "Learn More" link:
* "LiveExpert connects customers directly to manufacturers’ product support agents. These agents are employed by the manufacturer and not Amazon."
* "Manufacturer support hours are offered only during the manufacturer’s business hours" (so the little button that allows you to connect will go away or not be clickable outside the Manufacturer's business hours).
I began this review about 45 minutes after waiting on hold; at this moment, which I am now writing, I have been on hold waiting for FIRST CONTACT with a "Live" human, expert or otherwise for TWO HOURs, THIRTY FOUR MINUTES and 49 SECONDS...
As you might expect, I am not feeling very confident in this product or the company behind it. Classical on-hold music can only take you so far; I am fairly stubborn to see just how bad a company will treat its customers, but I've had enough for one day.
