The lack of information on which platform this is for was somewhat misleading. Yes, it is for PC - but the code is for GOG and not Steam or the Epic Game Store. It would have been nice to know before purchasing. The game was released on digital platforms the day before it is being released on Amazon. This could have been remedied by sending digital keys to customers instead of an empty box (this is NOT to be taken literally, implying a box without a game disc) with a code to download. I tried to cancel my order but was not able to even before the product shipped because it was "being prepared". I will probably never pre-order a PC game on Amazon again unless it specifically states they will be sending a digital key. I'm sure the game is great, but while other people are currently playing I'm waiting for an empty box (again, this is NOT to be taken literally) to show up so I can download the game that others were able to preload days ago.
Update: The game is ok. I'm struggling to even want to play it because the default settings are just so bad. Film grain, blur effects, camera lighting blur? Why are there settings to make the game look worse? After adjusting everything it looks much better (I'm playing on RTX ultra settings with an up to date machine and drivers). Mouse sensitivity is weird at best - default settings have different scrolling speeds for horizontal / vertical and even after adjusting it just feels clunky. Everything about the game feels like it is missing the polish that they delayed the game 5 times to finish.

why are you SHIPPING a digital download? while everyone else that pre-ordered earlier this week are already playing I don't even have the 120GB+ download started as I don't have a key so I can start the pre-load... thanks for absolutely nothing.

PC Version- I would give this a 9/10 if possible. In no way is this game a disappointment or trash as some have said, at least through the 8 or so hours that I’ve played so far. A lot of people have said the game is completely filled with bugs and is unfinished, but that’s not the experience I’ve had at all so far. I do feel the game has potential to be a bit better and more polished, but upcoming patches will fix many of the problems people are having. Make sure to update your GPU drivers before playing, as most people with major bugs on PC did not do this. I updated the drivers before I opened the game and have only had a few minor bugs, which should be expected in a game this big. I loved the first 8 hours I played and can’t wait to play more.

"Launch Day Delivery" is not launch day. The game launched 24hrs ago and I could have had it downloaded and ready before then, but now I am wondering when the code will come because the "delivery by 8pm" changing to "delivery by 11pm".
They could have had it delivered on launch day, they advertised it would be delivered on launch day, now we have one more company to distrust when it comes to the gaming industry and that company is not CDPR, it is WB Games who partnered with CDPR to distribute the physical copies.

updated review for some gameplay aspects : for various reasons, i am leaving the game at 4star, sadly...
1.) not being able to use third-person view while on foot is disappointing. i would very much like to observe my own character when doing various things, like reactions during conversations and such. that is to say, if they even exist. i could give more scenarios in which it would be nice to observe your own character during gameplay.
2.) it is sometimes difficult to interact with, or loot, some items in the game world when there are too many close to each other.
3.) i find it sometimes impossible to park your vehicle the way you want when approaching certain spots. the game forces you out of your vehicle.
4.) setting a waypoint on the map you want to travel to is atrociously difficult. you want to set the marker to the street, but buildings cover the street and the game doesn't pick up on where you actually want to travel to. which results in an awkward given path not leading to where you actually want to go.
5.) free roam capabilities are very limited and require more progress through main missions to accomplish. the game forces you backwards when attempting to free roam too far.
~
other thoughts that does not impact the ratting :
to maintain a stable 30FPS playing at a 1920x1080 resolution and using my specs, i had to lower some graphical options. lowered options are as follows... 1.)contact shadows=off 2.)local shadow mesh quality, local shadow quality, cascaded shadow range & resolution = medium 3.)distant shadow resolution=low 4.)all Ultra/Psycho settings down to "High" 5.)might get away with leaving Ambient Occlusion on High, but i set mine to Medium for extra good measure.
game still looks great with lowered graphical options.
overall? i am still very enjoying the game, and am glad to have purchased it. it is still a good game. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Previous section, before review update(s) :
first and foremost, i fully intend to give this game a 5star rating, but also intend to play it much more before doing so. just putting that out there! will probably give it the 5star it all-so-seemingly deserves sometime on the weekend.
next... this game comes with an insane amount of stuff. not only physical, but also digital. the soundtrack? it is 2 CD's and you can also download a digital version in WAV, MP3 or FLAC format.
next... EXTRA Goodies not even listed on the product page! digital comic, posters and avatars.
there's more! there have even been promises of some free DLC coming this 2021.
and still yet... you get a few free in-game cosmetic goodies too! ~ ~ ~ lemme tell you... i am glad to have not purchased that "The World of Cyberpunk 2077" book. (not that it isn't good, i just decided not to) the little "World Compendium" booklet is pretty darn cool. but even better is the "Art booklet" digital goodie it comes with. while the "World Compendium" booklet has some small information the digital art book doesn't, the digital art book has lots of great art and fully voiced details about the game world and pretty much everything you need to know about the game history/lore. vehicle and weapons and other stuffs too! i don't know what the digital stickers are used for, but is like a little scavenger hunt while enjoying the digital art book. which, by the way, is 60 pages long and also features some cool music. the digital art book also has great navigation and zoom features.
the comic is 80 pages.
the mentioned sourcebook is actually a 258 page guide book. totally nice! black & white, but still awesome. i will most likely be printing this out. it is in PDF format. ~ ~ overall, for 60dollars? you seriously can't beat that deal for a video game like this... seriously, you can't! FURTHERMORE, NONE of this is a pre-order bonus. buy now and get everything the same. (at the time of writing, anyhow.) as far as i can tell, this is all standard issue when you buy the game. correct me if i am wrong! ~ ~ ~ so, i played the game for roughly an hour and it looks and sounds and plays amazingly well. looks really great on my 55inch 4k television playing borderless windowed mode at a 1920x1080 resolution. i have all the options maxed out and seem to be getting a stable 30FPS. couldn't get 60FPS at my selected detail settings, but not getting hiccups or framesync errors capped at 30FPS. plays great!
things to keep in mind... the first section in graphics, basic, is going to be personal preference. i preferred all of those options disabled and set my FOV to the lowest of 70.
and how well will it hold to keeping a stable 30FPS moving forwards? hard to say, but i will update this review if it becomes an issue and need to lower any graphical options. i will update this review either way it goes, but don't hold your breath... i don't have much time for gaming. *so sad*
my specs? intel i7 8700k nvidia gtx 1070 ti 2x8gb RAM DDR4 2400Mhz samsung 970 pro 1TB SSD
nothing overclocked! ~ ~ ~ other thoughts : 1.) playing with gamepad may feel a bit awkward when navigating the menus, but gameplay is fine. 2.) the game could use some crosshair customization options. 3.) does not play on-foot in thrid-person mode. nor does the developer seem to be interested in ever adding such support. however, there is a photo mode should you want to observe your character.

Bought the PC version of the game. Came with a bunch of goodies like a map and stickers. The actual game was in the form of a code that you'll need to input into GOG.
Cyberpunk 2077 was one of the most highly anticipated games of this decade. I knew it would be unlikely to meet the sky high expectations set by the gaming community. After playing it for an entire day, I must say I'm happy with what I'm seeing so far. Sure, there are a few bugs and the game can be optimized better. But the most important aspects of the game, story and gameplay are both impressive.
I highly recommend it as it's great fun and I'm certain based on CD Projekt Red's track record the few issues will be fixed in time. If you're a fan of rpg and open world games, this is the game for you.
