To start this was played on an Xbox Series X so I did not have many of the same Issues that unfortunately have plagued the base Xbox and PS4 versions of the games leading to refunds being given to customers. If you have those versions I would wait for patches and enjoy the game next year (hopefully)! CD Projekt Red has done it again!! I am relatively (20-30 hours) early in the game that I hope to spend hundreds of hours in especially once they release the inevitable DLC and while I know they said they would make This shorter than the phenomenal Witcher 3 I plan to do every side quest ( / gig ) possible. The game looks absolutely beautiful on my Xbox Series X but I will not lie there are some bugs. The Witcher had some as well and in my experience so far none are game breaking but like the Witcher I expect many patches to fix these issues. I also look forward to the next generation enhancements coming early next year for CD Projekt Red for the PS5 and Xbox Series X. The game already looks beautiful so I can not imagine how much better it will look with these promised enhancements. I also look forward to the future support they are know for (Witcher 3 is even getting a next gen enhanced patch for the new consoles). This game much like the Witcher sucks you in and you are completely invested in V (not to mention Johnny Silverhands) and other characters. The great thing is how all the quest lines and choices seem to have true effects and impact far beyond who your allies are in the game. For this reason alone I can not imagine the amount of play throughs as without spoiling anything one character I gave some bad advice to ended up having quite a downfall as a result which was evident later. The character tree paths in this game seem never ending and I hope to open up every ending possible. You can also play anyway you want as you would expect in an open world RPG whether it be stealth or all action but your level depends on how you develop your attributes with perks. There are also a ton of enhancements for your character that can change how you play not to much all the character customization to make V your own. There are some incredible weapons in the games too that you can come across. Some advice that I would share is scan and pick up every thing in every room you can because even junk has value in Cyberpunk. Once Night City really opens up You can go anywhere and find all sorts of people /things which add to the story. Night City to me is also a star in itself because the amount of content that CDPR has put in is ambitious to say the least (think upgraded GTA with more story depth). I have to be honest though that it is because of how engaging the city is and how beautiful it is that bugs can seem more jarring or distracting. When they come up in certain interactions where a character gets stuck or interacts with an invisible object it takes you a bit out of the moment. You also may get occasional glitches where characters/objects randomly float but all seem very fixable and admittedly while they are there I actually did not find it had much of an impact on my enjoyment of the game. They so far have been more of a temporary annoyance but we will see how many more I come across. I would say though if you are someone who can’t move past bugs like this you should wait on some of the inevitable patches before your first play through. For me I have enjoyed every second so far and even the investigations which I was a bit leary of have a Quantic Dream type of feel to it. This may sound strange but while I think they could have waited longer on the game to iron out these bugs, I am still extremely happy to finally get my hands on the game. The game is beautiful, innovative and has a massive world I can not get enough of! I believe in CDPR and I know these bugs will get patched and while the wait can be frustrating for the fixes. Just playing this game with all that has happened in 2020 still feels amazing to get lost in this Cyberpunk world.
Update: I definitely feel like this first large patch has helped with the bugs. I have finished the game and it took me around 40 hours doing many side quests. The game was great and I am still in awe of Night City. I would say turn off film grain in the options to help with visuals as well. Looking forward to seeing more endings and again I definitely understand anyone who wants to wait for more patches (since the base Xbox and ps4 versions are supposed to be almost broken with bugs) and the next gen patch as well. When you do play though enjoy the experience this game has to offer!
