Well worth it! If you have a 2008 and older Harley , this is definitely a must buy. It cleans up the old crossover pipe design and gives you a 2009 and newer look. It also frees up the 8 claimed ponies and you can definitely feel. My Street Glide (FLHX) runs smoother and cooler. If I recommended this to a friend that has a 2007 Road King (FLHRC) I certainly would recommend it to you.

I installed these yesterday on my 2004 Road King Custom. I was concerned about the ground clearance and the possibility of the pipes scraping during aggressive cornering. After test riding for several hours, I found nothing to worry about. These headers look and feel great. No more heat from under the seat or down the left side of the bike. They're not as loud as true duals but my Rinehart slip-ons still sound great with the S&S headers. Installation wasn't difficult but took several hours. Everything fits perfectly. Take your time installing the exhaust gaskets. You don't want to disturb the integrity of the woven aluminum.

I have a 2007 Roadking with Stage 1, Rinehart Mufflers, Arlen Ness Big Sucker air cleaner, Dobeck TFI power tuner. My bike ran great before so I was bummed out at 22K miles when my stock head pipe cracked behind #2 cylinder. I almost bought some true duals because that's what my buddy did at Sturgis and he was happy. However, during research I read some people complain of power loss with the true duals.
I went with the S&S Power Tune and couldn't be happier. The instructions were clear and the install was done in an afternoon. The hardest part was putting the slip-on mufflers on the new pipes (if it weren't a late evening, I would have taken them to an exhaust shop for spreading or bought a tool). All necessary hardware was included and the chrome looks good. I didn't notice much difference on the ride to work the next morning (except a deeper sound) but I took it easy to break in the pipes and avoid the winter frost.
The frost free ride home was a blast! The 8 hp claim is very easy to feel at the initial start and at cruising speed. My Rinehart pipes are even deeper and throatier when I mash the throttle. S&S has the pipes tuned perfect! I also found that Amazon's price was about $50 less than directly buying from the website. Gained power and saved money. Brings the grin back to the rider.

I found the 8 H.P. claimed. Very impressed. I find that I stay in a gear longer and it pulls very hard. Nice sound. Strange how I can cruise in a lower gear. 4TH IS GOOD AT 50 TO 60 mph. Throttle response is much better. This bike should have come with this pipe from the factory. I have never been so impressed with a power gain claim, until now. The only con, I did drag the heat shield making a turn at low speed.
2007 Road King Stage 1 is done and done well. My gas mileage went from 38 mpg to 42 mpg. and this was the first 2 tanks of gas with many fast starts and more full throttle than normal. Get one.

I was looking to update my 2002 HD with an modern ECM. The thunder max was a complete modern fuel management system, but it need a place for wide-band oxygen sensors. I wanted to keep the dual tail pipe look and reduce the heat around my legs. These pipes were tuned balanced between the cylinders and looked nice. A tremendous about of research went into looking for the best design and need of what I wanted. They meet every expectation and more. I /ike the look of the back cylinder and seeing the clean gap for cylinder cooling that I would not have with a pipe coming out of the left side. The connection of the under pipe and onto the transmission case is well constructed. I did however have to cut the bracked off from the right side of the transmission case that held on the original pipes.

S&S has always had great products but, the Power Tune Duals are super! Fit perfect, look perfect, easy to install and best of all, they sound great! I installed them with stock Harley mufflers on an 07 Electra Glide. I didn't think I wanted it to be loud as it is a touring bike but, I may have to try a set of louder muffler that I have just to hear it! However, the stock mufflers sound very good now. I'm happy with my purchase!

Amazon purchase.

Amazing headers. I recommend these for anyone with a 2008-later Harley touring model.

Gives the look of the newer bikes (2009+) by routing the left pipe under the frame...and gives (when paired with a decent set of mufflers) a nice low growl.

I've purchased two sets and would buy more if Inhad more bikes to install them on. :)

Set 1: On 1999 Road King w/95" bore, cams & head work. Paired with Vance & Hines 'Hi-Output' mufflers. Great set-up.

Set 2: On 2004 Ultra Classic w/95" bore, cams & head work. Paired with Vance & Hines 'Monster Ovals' mufflers. Great set-up.

I've also heard some bikes with similar motor work that are running CFR mufflers with these headers THAT is the hot set-up...

Great product and easy to install. If you are going to reuse your existing mufflers and have a problem sliding them on the new headers, a trip down to the local muffler shop to have them stick their pipe expander in the muffler is a easy fix. I have a problem with over-torqueing and it did colapse the pipe a little bit with the muffler clamps the last time I installed them. Ride safe.
