And that's just early on in the book. The pace continues steadily throughout as other characters and subplots get introduced – and when Ann and Charlette actually meet in person. You find yourself empathizing with both throughout, and there are some good twists and turns. DS Kane's background was as a covert spy for more than a decade, and it shows, in a good way. There's a lot of manipulating and clever maneuvering by the characters, which gives an inside look at how these intelligence agencies operate.
Don't worry if you haven't read previous books in the series, either. I felt right at home paging through CypherGhost. Chances are you'll want to check out some of the other titles by DS Kane, as well. Looking forward to the next one!
Awaiting more from this excellent creator of tales.
