Like any of his novels, this one contains characters that grow on you and are hard to let slip away once the tale is told. I still think about them; as if they were old friends I'd not seen in years and wish to reunite with.
The only exception to this, of course, is The Mede. You won't forget him but a reunion would be the last thing you'd want. He is one of the creepiest, most sadistic antagonists I've read about in years.
As for the story itself, it's a macabre thriller that takes the reader on a horrific ride, giving John Grisham and Stephen King a run for their money.
If you want a book that not only whets the appetite but sates the reading mind, get this one. It's satisfaction guaranteed.
This book is a must have for anyone who loves to have their interest peaked with a well written mystery that deviates into avenues you never expect, making it impossible to put down.
Arley Owens Jr. is a writer with an inate ability to make his characters and his stories become "reality". He has written several novels and each time I read one, I say to everyone around me "This is my favorite and the best one!". He has another book available right now here on Amazon, "A Tale of the Mojave", and all I can say is "DITTO!"
In the end, they are all my favorites, and each one is the "best one"! Trust me, you'll get hooked on this writer and his books!
