Do NOT purchase DWR-730 - company has discontinued service

In June 2015, I purchased a brand new DWR-730 portable router while on assignment in Cambodia. The router worked fine for 2 weeks in Phnom Penh. In July 2015, I was in Japan and tried using the same DWR-730 inTokyo. I purchased and installed a pre-paid Japanese mobile SIM card (data only); followed the set-up configuration instructions. I configured it with the Japanese data SIM card to no avail. I called D-Link's tech support department. I waited on hold for one hour to speak with D-Link's tech support. After she verified the technical configurations were correct, she said D-Link no longer supports the DWR-730 product. Do NOT purchase the DWR-730.

I used this wifi device in in south Vietnam (Ho Chi Minh & Can Tho) and it worked beautifully. I traveled there 7/24/15 - 8/2/15. Internet reception was quite reliable. Connecting to the device was easy and worked just fine. I didn't encounter any problems. However, I am not sure if the device works just as well in other countries. I borrow this device from a friend who told me they bought it in Europe where it also worked well.

Comprato a maggio scorso, usato pochissimo e sporadicamente, lo ritrovo con batteria rigonfiata che quasi esplode rischiando un incendio in casa o qualche grave danno. Non lo consiglio anche perché i materiali sono scadenti, è plastica scadente, meglio andare su prodotti huawei che sono più affidabili. 45 euro buttati !!! Amazon intervenga ne vale la sicurezza dele persone.

Os cuento mi experiencia. No soy muy dada a dispositivos electrónicos.

SIMYO: Con la tarjeta de Simyo ha estado enchufar y ya. Ha funcionado a la primera y sin problemas.

YOIGO: Aquí ha habido un poco más de follón. Al insertar la tarjeta y encender no se ha conectado. He entrado en el administrador del router con un ordenador. Allí he visto que ha reconocido la red, que eso ya es mucho. Pero no funcionaba y toqueteando-toqueteando, creo que lo que ha hecho que funcionara ha sido activar el "roaming mode", en la pestaña "internet" - "operaciones de conexión".

Espero que os sirva y no tengaís que echar la mañana como yo.

Poco da dire su un semplice modem 3G WiFi. Il marchio fa la differenza, ovviamente, e in effetti un prodotto dimile si può trovare anche a una decina di Euro in meno, ma sicuramente non è realizzato con la stessa cura, e soprattutto il software di configurazione non sarà minimamente paragonabile.
Infatti, in questi apparecchi, conta molto la bontà del software di configurazione, che è il vero responsabile del comportamento (buono o cattivo) del dispositivo.

Il modem infatti fa il suo mestiere senza fiatare; il software, raggiungibile da interfaccia web una volta collegati alla rete WiFi del dispositivo, è molto completo e professionale, e presenta molte funzioni (anche avanzate).
Sicuramente non è semplicissimo da usare per chi non è un minimo esperto di reti e networking in genere, ma in ogni caso è un prodotto davvero valido.
