I give it 3 stars because this security code change is very important for me, but the lack or wrong of instruction about setting up new security code make me almost give up. I'm not a newbie around, I build my own computers and labtop, set up couple houses networks with NAS. But, D_Link, you really did a bad job on this important fuction.
I have the older generation Zyxel PLA4211 (500 class) powerline adapters which can provide ~10Mbps throughput at that distance. The Dlinks are a huge disappointment.
If the Dlinks could maintain the 27MBps over the 70ft, it would be more secure and preferable over my current wireless environment. In my house, the Dlinks work acceptably in the shorter distances but they are horrible beyond 30ft. The MIMO technology does allow more throughput over multiple streams but not 2x or 3x 250Mbps. There is too much hype in the specifications.
I haven't run a point-to-point test between two computers on each end of the adapter, but the throughput is definitely high enough to saturate a 100 Mbps line. My install is on different circuits and that didn't cause an issue at all.
Id reccomend this product as it works awesome for gaming, video uploading and things that require alot of bandwidth that your wifi cant handle
