Blog postAs most of you can tell I’m a little different from most women. I don’t care about the latest fashion trends or Hollywood gossip. I’m horrible with make-up but I know how to paint a car properly. For show and tell at school I brought in a car alternator while other kids brought their bears or sports equipment.
Yes, I was bullied a lot and it hurt. It took me a very long time to get over being called weird. That’s why I have always gravitated to characters who were different and guess3 years ago Read more -
Blog postTo many Halloween is a time for vampires, witches, skimpy costumes and loads of candy. To me there has always been magic to Halloween.
Halloween is a time when the day gets shorter and the nights are a bit colder. Leaves start to fall and my coffee gets a little pumpkin spice. Kids and adults run to the fabric store to make the perfect costume. It’s a time when all the old urban legends are retold and new ones concocted. Old graveyards and haunts are visited in the hope of finding the3 years ago Read more -
Blog postWith the Halloween season upon us, it reminds me how much I love paranormal lore and legends. I’m one of the few who loves real haunted houses and would dig into the history of ghosts. Vampires have always been curious creatures to me. The lore has been taken in many directions in movies and tv shows so I decided to take a look at the history of one of the most famous paranormal lore.
It seems that vampires were nothing new when Bram Stroker wrote Count Dracula in 1897. The folklore o3 years ago Read more -
Blog postHalloween is one of the big holidays we celebrate at our home. I love it so much that over the years I have acquired a collection of different decor to make the house look festive.
Among my decor I have a group of witches who fly around the house or stare out the window and put spells on trespassers.
One of my favorite flying witches is Broomhilda. She has a special spot in the living room where she flys above us all. She’s not the prettiest witch and I’ve had her for years so3 years ago Read more -
Blog postThere’s been a change in the air and the days are getting shorter. Stores have gotten a bit more orange and their shelves are stocked with loads of sugary goodness.
It’s the most frightening time of the year!
What better way to celebrate then to talk about scary things every day in October? I’m not talking about things upstairs that go bump in the night. Those really aren’t that scary, unless your grandparents live upstairs . I’m talking about things that genuinely scare peop3 years ago Read more -
Blog postAs part of my love, don’t hate campaign I have put together some memes that I hope will inspire people to rethink their hatred towards others.
Today’s meme is…
The next time you are angry and want to lash out verbally at someone, stop. Think about a song you love and just start singing! You’ll spread more love by singing then screaming.

Blog postI’m known to be a very stubborn person by many. I associate it to genes since many women in my family are the same way. (Don’t get us all in the kitchen to make a holiday dinner!)
When there’s a problem that needs to be solved I will stay on it until I get it resolved. It’s almost like an obsession. When I come across something I can’t fix it bothers me to no end.
Then came Monday. On top of it, it was one of those days when nothing went right. After extinguishing all the smal3 years ago Read more -
Blog postIt’s that time of year when kids go back to school and all the Halloween decorations come out! I have a creepophilia for anything gothic. Skeletons, witches, gravestones, cauldrons, anything that church ladies deem sinful, I love!
Recently, I developed a fascination for gargoyles. Maybe it’s how dark and evil they look as they hang and leer at people. Or maybe it’s because many people are afraid to look at them because they think they are too creepy. They are such misunderstood creatu3 years ago Read more -
Blog postUpdate Oct 4th- With the terrible tragedy that occurred in Las Vegas this weekend, I feel this message needs to be spread. We need to stop hating! Hate will get us nothing but pain and sadness!
In the past couple of months, I have seen so much hatred infest our society. No one is immune from this hatred, every one of us has experienced it in some way. It’s sad that our society has not evolved and become better. There always seems to be someone who points out the negativity and fuels3 years ago Read more -
Blog postAnyone with kids knows how expensive birthday parties can get. Even if you have the party at home the costs add up- decorations, games, goodies for the kids, food and drinks.
To cut down on some of the cost I decided this year to make instead of buy the birthday cake. Fortunately my kid was not hung up on having an actual cake. So I went with cupcakes!
The only requirement I had was it had to be Star Wars themed and have BB8.

Blog postTo finish off my costume I needed a witch’s hat. Otherwise, I would have been the evil cleaning lady! I didn’t want the standard plain black hat because that was just boring.
I needed to add to it. With the leftover tulle ribbon I had from my broom I wrapped it around the base but it still felt like it was missing something.
I found a cute little spider ornament that matched the pattern on my sleeves and cape.
Since I was putting this on fabric I decided to sew all of4 years ago Read more -
Blog postWith my witch dress complete I needed to find the final touches for it. I found the perfect size broom at a craft store but it was just missing something. Down the aisles I went to scavenge for the perfect thing. What that was I didn’t even know. It took me a while but then I found it. Some black sprays with purple glitter and it was on sale. Score!
Out came my trusty glue gun ready to put together this witchy contraption.
The sprays were cut. Then glued on.
