From the Manufacturer
Manage both your cell phone and your landline calls from a single cordless unit with the Uniden D1780-2BT with Bluetooth® CELLLiNK™technology. Pair up to two cell phones using a Bluetooth and 174; connection. You can transfer 1,400 phonebook names & numbers (700 per cell phone). This system works even without a landline -- you can use it as a high-quality extension of your cell phone and enjoy excellent handset range and brilliant voice quality. Access your messages from the base, which features a large LED number-of-messages indicator, or from either of the cordless handsets. Each handset has a speakerphone built in for convenient handsfree conversations.
Manage Both Cell Phone and Landline Calls
Pair up to two Bluetooth® enabled cell phones via CELLLiNK™ to this convenient phone system, and manage all your calls from one place. You can conduct two calls at once -- one cell phone call and one landline call. You can also assign unique ring tones to each of the two cell phones and to the landline, so you know exactly which line the call is coming through. You don't even need a landline to use this system. It can act simply as an extension of your cell phone, providing clear audio and superior range. Enjoy many convenient features, such as speakerphones on the handsets and a one-touch silent mode for all handset ringers.
Large Phonebook Memory Stores All Your Contacts
The Uniden D1780-2BT phone system offers a convenient array of features, including call waiting, a 50-name-and-number caller ID, intercom and call transfer between handsets, and remote message retrieval. Access your contacts easily with a 100 name-and-number phonebook and ten speed dial numbers. You can also download up to 1,400 cell phone contacts from two different cell phones (700 from each phone). That means all of the contacts normally kept in your cell phone can be securely stored in your home system.
DECT 6.0 Digital Technology for Outstanding Clarity, Security, and Range
With DECT 6.0 digital technology, this cordless phone avoids interference from wireless networks and household appliances, giving you brilliant voice clarity. This technology also offers better security against eavesdropping and an improved range over other phone systems.
Backlight Keypad and Display for Easy Viewing and Dialing
With an easy to read white backlit LCD display, this cordless phone with answering system makes it easy to dial accurately and to see who's calling, both day and night. The phone's user-friendly interface and large, comfortable buttons make it a great choice for any household.
Digital Answering System with Easy Message Retrieval
The Uniden D1780-2BT cordless phone system comes with a built-in answering system that records voice messages with crisp digital clarity. Retrieve messages from the base or from either of the handsets, each of which features a message waiting indicator light. A large LED message counter on the base tells you, at a glance, exactly how many messages are waiting for you.

Don't waste your money on this piece of junk!!! I am very angry!
I ordered Uniden, because I had a set for a long time & liked the phones. They have changed things, & I will NEVER buy UNIDEN again.
Another feature that I wanted was the ability to display the caller's name as entered in the phone-book when matched to the calling number. AT&T and V-Tech call this feature "Memory Match". Uniden doesn't mention this capability at all. I was really pleasantly surprised when I found out that this phone will do this feature.
The phone-book will store 100 entries, that's about double what most of the other comparable phones will do. It would really be cool if the phone-book would be more like a cell phone phone-book, where you could put multiple phone numbers under one person's name. For example, place a cell, home and work number under one person's name and if that person calls from any of those numbers their name would be displayed. To do this now you need 3 different entries for the same person.
In general this is a good phone and I would recommend it to the home user.
It also takes caller ID numbers from the Magic Jack Plus used without a computer. The MJ Plus won't record calls if you're using it without a computer so far as I can tell, so having the Uniden tell you who called is an added benefit with MJ-Plus. It's the perfect 'phone for our situation. You get the speed dial and caller ID benefits that are otherwise missing if you use the Magic Jack Plus without a computer, and it solves problems older people have with 'phones. I love Magic Jack Plus for not making me keep my computer on all the time, but I love the original with-computer Magic Jack for my zillion speed call numbers and for knowing who called. This 'phone gives those benefits back if you're using the Magic Jack Plus without a computer.
The functions aren't so intuitive for me, but with the manual, no sweat. It's a terrific phone.
Downside: I get just a tiny bit of feedback with the corded handset but not enough to make me give up this telephone. In fact, I can avoid the feedback by aiming right, and only I hear it anyway.
