Now let's continue with the fact that there is a lot of scorching hotness happening within these pages.
James created a masterful story and Dani; I didn't know whether to feel bad for her or call the cops at times. I think it the feeling bad clicked in when I read about her mother (P-S-Y-C-H-O), but seriously. Call the cops because what is wrong with this girl????
Overall, I had to give this five stars.
The plot is original.
The characters are great.
The writing is so vivid that you can actually see the scenes happening as you read them. (which in some cases may not be the best thing.)
However, a book that can keep me from putting it down the moment I pick it up, a book that can give me so many feelings of "WTF" in the best ways possible, is definitely worth five stars.
I will never play a game of truth or dare ever again in life after reading this!
If you read his previous books, Six and Six Toy, this book will say move over cause here I come. You will need some time to get over this book. You'll want to read over and over again.
I Dare you.
I'll call you Mr. J from now on. Just like Harley Quinn calls the Joker. Both are crazy psycho and I can see a little bit of Harley in Dani.
Well done Mr. J. Well done.
Dani, oh this girl! HOLY MOLY she's a twisted, dirty dirty girl!!! I mean this girl literally has ZERO LIMITS!!!
I don't wanna give any spoilers away, so I'll just say that Dani is one MESSED up chic!!!
I felt all the characters tied together very well, and gave us some different insight to Dani, and her personality. Mr Crow has given us one of the kinkiest, dirtiest, most taboo books I've read on a long time, and I ate up
I really can't wait for more from him!!! 5 DIRTY, KINKY, FILTHY STARS!!!
*I voluntarily read an ARC of Dare from the author, this is my honest review. I purchased the book as well*
Dani completely redefines twisted. Her dares escalate throughout the book, and they delve deep into her twisted mind. Her antics are limitless and will leave you stunned, over and over again. We see firsthand how far she's willing to push the envelope. I loved hot as hell Drew, with his sexy boots, and the other characters in the book really round out this demented yet riveting story.
This book touches on so many illicit topics - eroticism, kinkyness, religion/desecration, incest, and more. The imagery evoked in James Crow's book brings everything to life on a whole new level that knows no bounds. What a fantastic read. Come on this amazingly whacked out journey, if you DARE.
I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book and purchased a copy.
I wasn't expecting the total mind F it was so amazingly crazy that I couldn't put it down.
It's like when you see something you shouldn't and you know you should look away but you just can't! This is the book version of that and I loved it! That may mean I am just as messed up as this book, but you know what I am ok with that.
I can't not give this book 5 stars because it absolutely deserves it. James you have done an amazing job
Dare was... crazy. Taboo doesn't even begin to describe it. Dark and intense and insane and... crazy. James Crow has pushed all of the boundaries and has written a book that people will be talking about... a lot. Dani is a character that is so deeply disturbed and in so far over her head, that there is no way for her life to end in any way except tragedy.
The writing is very good and the way the book is told, through flash backs and memories, is unique and created a way for the reader to relive Dani's past while also questioning her future. Until I understood this writing pattern, I did find myself a bit lost. But after I caught up, it was easy to follow along and I can see why it was written this way.
I'm still just questioning everything and staring off into nothing wondering what I just read. Good job James, this book was an insanely good roller coaster ride.
