"TO my fellow monster erotica fans, you know (like OMG you know) how hard it is to find good quality books in this genre. And we have a good one here! If you love this genre, it is absolutely a must read." Goodreads reviewer, April
"THERE are not 1 but 2 massive schlongs in this book. ... Battles galore, stubborn heroines who wear tall boots and bodysuits with interesting buckles, swords that are as likely to get you killed as they are to help you kill, and leading men who are made of stone." Clara, In Between the Pages
"IT'S not a book to recommend to your nana (unless your nana is one sex-crazed nympho with a fetish for huge male members). It's one that would shock the living daylights out of people who iron their underwear. But if your mind spends a good portion of its time scouring the gutters for the worst it can find then you'll love this one." Louise, Goodreads reviewer
"TONGUE in cheek humour, action, monster ménage makeout sessions and a wonderful story about accepting and being true to yourself." Bubbles The Book Pimp

This author continues to blow my mind. Her innate ability to create a world that transports her audience to another world in addition to having the hero of the story be otherworldly and yet have it seem real is not an easy feat. Yet, this author does it. If you would have asked me a year ago if I ever saw myself reading and LOVING 'romance' books based on steampunk, mesmers, and stoneshifters I would have laughed my head off. However, I sit here today and am writing a review about a hero name Zarblu and a feisty woman that defies the classic notion that women are weak and need to be coddled named Mila.
This book is far from conventional. It started out as somewhat of a joke in her reader group and quickly blew up from there. Throughout this book, we can catch glimpses of the author and her personality. There are moments of humor, moments of acquiescence and ultimately moments of peace for both Mila and Zarblu. Who knew a monster could be empathetic? Or maybe that is where the joke is because even though from outward appearances he looks like a monster on the inside he is more human than an actual human. I know this started out as a joke but I would love to see this expand and see a story about a talking sword and a certain cyborg doling out punishment to a girl that desperately deserved it.
Do you ever wonder sometimes how an author comes up with certain ideas? Especially, the most obscure and "think outside the box" type of ideas and then turns it into literary prose? Those are questions that I ask myself every time I read a book by this author. I think that there is no way that she can outdo herself. This is especially true as she takes it in a whole new direction with everything that she writes.
In this case, she is expanding on the Dark Monster fantasy series only this time instead of a stonehifter we get a monster mé·nage à trois with a Princess, an Orc/shag, and a cyborg. Might seem out of this world, which it is both literally and figuratively in this case, but don't let that discourage you from trying it out and seeing for yourself that this book/series is everything. It blends science fiction with fantasy, erotica with witty tongue in cheek humor. She creates a world that if you close your eyes you can picture it as if you had visited before. That in itself is pretty amazing considering it a futuristic location in Space. As always, her books have STEAM and an eggplant or two. Nothing like a couple of big eggplants to fulfill your hunger.
Even with the humor, this author always gives another meaning. In this case, she seems to want to give the lesson the importance of being true to one's self and not to the dictates of those around you. In the long run, material things and appearances do not matter if you aren't truly happy.
I cannot want to see what the next utterly wicked and out of world idea, this author has up her sleeve for her audience next. Regardless of what it is, I will be waiting with bated breath!
Where do I even begin with this book? I knew from the very first book in this series that I wanted a story about Smorg the sword and Lederick. What I didn't know was that I was going to also want it to turn out the way that this author envisioned. Creating a man who can change bodies and appendages as if they were a book from the local library. BRILLIANT. Often I read a sex scene in books and think, "well, that was hot" but rarely is it the first time I have read one that hasn't been done in some variation before. It was as if this author heard my inner musings and picked up the gauntlet and ran with it because every scene was unique. It was Hot. I learned things about myself that surprised me (no I won't divulge those but am now looking at tentacles in a whole new way) and found myself laughing at the same time.
This book gave me everything that I wanted and so much more. There was humor, moments that I laughed out loud, and moments I had to fan myself. I love this author. Her dark books are some of my favorites of all time. Yet, I also love this quirky side of her where she manages to poke fun at so many things, uses puns and barbed sarcasm, but somehow still manages to show how much she invests in the creation of a story. There are still the elements of consent, darkness, strong females, world-building, and dark anti-heroes that can be found in her other works, only in this series she adds the humor. I am really glad this series all started because of a picture.
and SMORG... holy titfire I LOVE HIM.
Mila’s sister Tiana is to be sacrificed to Lord Zarblu and Mila must try to rescue Tiana. Mila is a mercenary-thief, star-rover, explorer of dead planets to find remnants worth selling. Prey is a novella so it is a quick book to read and I wouldn’t want to give anything away.
I want to know what world does Cari Silverwood live in? She wows you with these little worlds of fantasy and make believe. These are usually dark worlds and not for the faint of heart. Hence the warning.
Warning that Cari Silverwood has provided if you don’t like graphic books don’t read this one.
I loved reading Prey and give it 4.5 stars. I can’t wait for the next book to come out!
When I read Cari Silverwood’s books I often wonder how in the world did she come up with her characters for these fantasy suspense stories of hers. I am not sure I will ever know these things but, what I do know is Cari Silverwood can write! Her books are always entertaining, they can be a little dark or all the way to very dark & disturbing. They are always thought provoking and she likes to push boundaries as much and as often as she can. I guess that is what I love about her books.
Steel is the second book in the Dark Monster Fantasy. Each of these books can be read as a complete Standalone.
If you like dark suspenseful and Hot as Sin books then you need to read this book.
Steel is the story of Baz Rutland a cyborg with a lost soul. Ember is “A Principle Data extraction expert employed by CESS Industries - a princess in lay terms.” And Hoss is Half Orc, half Shag, and a hairy beast, he shaves to blend into the mass of humanity populating the galaxies.
So as far as dark books go this one is on the lighter side of dark. I love Cari Silverwood’s warning. It is oh so true and almost funny. Here it is.
"Like PREY, this book is not gritty uber-dark such as Cari Silverwood often writes. It is the pansy dark you reach for when you're all darked out and one step from seeing a therapist.
It's carnal, naughty, and very twisted, and not what your mother ever wanted you to read. Also, there may be some robots that go PEW PEW."
I loved reading Steel and I give it 4.5 stars and as per usual I can’t wait to read her next book.
Cari Silverwood – Blade. I love the cover! I think it is very telling how the story will be. Blade is the third book in the Dark Monster Fantasy series. We meet Ledderik aka Led (he was first introduced in Prey) & Thorn. In the beginning Ledderik isn’t very nice. Until he meets Thorn. Ledderik has just about used his body up and needs a new one. And, with the bodies that Led chooses he makes sure he has a priority to upsize his appendages. Yes, you read that correctly, appendages and he knows how to use them! Thorn is half sexy siren & half S’kar. She needs to choose which one she wants to be and Led has a preference for which one she chooses.
Cari Silverwood writes with humor & sarcasm! She knows how to make a book interesting, hot & sexy! This isn’t the first book that Cari has had a tentacled character either.
This is an entertaining story for sure. 5 Stars
