Dash is definitely an interesting character. He's lived his life on the edge, following his own rules, and while his inability to follow the law should get him into a whole heap of trouble, he always finds a way out of it with his smooth talking and deep pockets, and this time around, it might just land him a career where he can use his adventurous side to put him on top. Tabatha is a work in progress. She's a smart mouthed and strong willed woman who fell for the wrong guy and ended up becoming someone she didn't recognize. But that's the past, and now she's all about reclaiming her old self and putting her needs above all else.
Both Dash and Tabatha have a lot at risk by not only putting their hearts on the line, but giving into a relationship that is not as open and honest as it should be, and because secrets always have a way of coming out, deception can lead to catastrophic events, which seems to be where Dash and Tabatha are headed as the story continues, both individually and as a couple, due to outside players and their vendettas against the hot couple, which spells trouble for their relationship and even Dash's career.
There's multiple factors to consider in Dash and Tabatha outing their relationship to the public eye and with Tabatha's insecurities and Dash's risky profession, nothing is cut and dry and the risks they face might be too much for them to endear, especially when the hits just seem to keep coming.
Tabatha and Dash are great characters and their banter and hot connection truly fly off the page, but they definitely frustrated me throughout the story, especially Tabatha. I know she's been hurt, and she's hesitant to start another relationship, but she cuts and runs over any issue, and I don't blame Dash for being frustrated. Do I condone some of his acts, absolutely not, but Tabatha needs to understand his side of the situation as well and that doesn't seem to happen throughout much of the text.
Dash is an angsty, emotional journey for not only the main characters but the readers as well. A lot of miscommunication and jumping to conclusions hinder the progress Dash and Tabatha make in their relationship and others' interference also complicates matters, but Shantel proves how much they belong to each other, heart and soul, regardless of the obstacles.

4 Poison Apples
For the last year, Tabatha Knight has been in a relationship that has caused her to lose who she once was. Now that the relationship has ended she is determined to find the woman she once was and starts the journey with a fun night out with her friends.
Erik Dashling seems to always find himself in some kind of trouble that results in him behind bars. One typical day he finds himself behind bars and bailed out with the opportunity of a lifetime at his feet. To celebrate he throws a party and in the mist of things meets an incredible woman who he can’t get out of his head. However, this same woman could be the one woman that can end his dreams in an instant.
The love story between these pages is very realistic in the sense that every relationship has their issues and DASH is not in short supply with testing the relationship between Tabatha and Dash. The relationship issues are completely relatable and even with the factor of Dash being an up and coming sensation in his motorcycle career in the mix. It’s not everyday that a relationship forms out of a drunken one-night stand.
The story not only has a love story, but it has a little mystery and suspense intertwined into the story that is always in the background. Not so far back that you forget about it, but right on the edge that you are left trying to figure it out before you find out because it’s just enough to nah at your brain. The mystery in itself is a little predictable, I think maybe the outcome could have been more of a shocker, but it still adds to the storyline.
What I found refreshing is that even though Dash has a talent for motorcycle racing he doesn’t belong to a MC. I love MC books, but not every character that rides a bike needs to belong to a brother hood of bikers. So it was nice for it to be more down the lines of a sport instead of a lifestyle in the sense.
In the beginning I mentioned that this book broke my heart in more ways than one and that is because while reading this lovely book I got that feeling in my chest multiple times that resembles getting your heart wrenched out, or you know something serious is about to happen. You hold your hand to your chest, your heart clenches, you hope for the best, or you’re on the verge of tears. It’s just a world wind of emotions. Just be warned that the ending might leave you unsatisfied. I felt like there had to be more to come and that maybe it just didn’t end right. But nonetheless I still really enjoyed reading Dash and will most likely find myself diving back into the pages for another dose.
