5.0 out of 5 stars Work As Well As Aquilia To Improve Laminate Ukes
By Ian Mclean on July 26, 2018
Replaced Carbon-Fiber Strings on my Enya Tenor, a very nice but inexpensive instrument. Sounded good with original strings, but wanted to see if D'Addario Nyltech strings could improve playability & sound like Aquila Nylgut strings do. Answer is an unqualified, "YES!" Strumming is marginally better, more warmth, little bit of tinniness is gone, sustain is a little longer. Plucking is significantly better, fingering is easier, sound more distinct along with above.

Just to let you know Nyltech strings so need to be stretched. History says they will settle in in 3-5 days. You need to tune them, then pull up around top of sound hole to stretch them & tune again. Doing this a few times a day for that 3-5 days & they will hold tune pretty well. A little more work, but well worth the effort.

3.0 out of 5 stars Bright jangly tone but do not hold their tuning well.
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on May 4, 2017
I've been playing these strings on my baritone (low D tuning) for about three weeks, and I can't say that I'm really that impressed. Even after that period of time, the B and E strings drift out of tune fairly quickly, and once you start playing, you need to re-tune after two or three songs. Sometimes you don't but that seems to be because all four strings have de-tuned more or less evenly. They seem more difficult than other strings to tune up using in the first place when using an electronic tuner, and when you think you've got them tuned, it turns out you need to tweak them some more.

Sound-wise, they're very different to other strings I've played, and are much brighter, with a jangly quality to them. I'll keep these strings until they start to go, but with then revert to Aquila, at least on the unwound B and E strings.

UPDATE: After less than two months, the G string snapped between the nut and the tuners. Just found it like that this morning. Not happy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wound D is excellent no droning. Recommended
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on December 3, 2019
I Put these on a Bonanza Oreo Baritone and totally pleased with them.
It's in G tuning - DGBE - and previously, with Worth Browns, the D was dull and droning.
With these D'Addario Titaniums its crisp and blends with the other notes without that overpowering drone
There are two wound strings for D and G and two monofilament for B and E
The strings feel smooth and are very nice to play.
Gradually staying in tune quite quickly
Will definitely buy these again
