The camera's focus is crispest at 2 to 6 inches. The 4 led lights provide enough light to see the walls of 4 inch to 6 inch ducts, but not much more. I used a bunge cord, and tied the camera to the bush of my 20 ft flexible duct cleaning rod. As others have stated.

I found to instructions, written in broken english, to be adequate. There really is not much to the instructions. Plug into a USB port, insert the disk, and run the camera software.

I found the supplied software to be minimalistic, but good enough to see what the camera is seeing. The software only records in Microsoft AVI format.

I had no trouble dimming the LEDs, however I am unsure why one would ever do so. Full brightness is good enough to see about 5 inches, and not much more.

This is a simple set of LEDs and camera on the end of a 30ft flexible wire that plugs into a USB port. I would recommend it to someone looking for a cheap way to look inside ducts a few times, who alreay has a flexible duct cleaning rod of some length. It is not a professional tool.

I put this camera down my drain (which was full of water since it was clogged) hoping to find the clog. At the very first the picture was a-ok, then not far in I couldn't see anything. I thought the water was just murky, but when I pulled the camera out (it had been in just a few feet) the head was full of water. I left it to dry to check whether the problem was temporary, but when it dried, it only showed massive pixellated purple shapes... no image whatsoever.

So this device is not waterproof, even at the head end. I returned it via Amazon and they very quickly and painlessly refunded my money.

We have the need to locate leaking valves and thought that this camera might do the trick. Most reviews say that the cable is flimsy and can't be pushed. Watch the video to see how we worked around this. Tip: When using this waterproof camera, the picture will be slightly grainy if you open the window to full screen so I would recommend leaving the window in its native resolution for best picture; but if you know what you are looking for when using this camera, the picture quality is fine. In other words, don't expect a Hollywood production from this camera but it will be able to get in places that you can't otherwise get your eyes.

Got about 10 feet into my main line and filled with water to the point it couldn't focus any more.

I really required only two characteristics of this product. Long enough, and waterproof. It was long enough.

I don't need 64-bit support; I keep an old 32-bit XP laptop just for stuff like this. I didn't expect a USB cable to be a snake; I have a snake.

The plastic end cap is a BIG problem. It diffuses enough light that with the LEDs turned up, the backscatter degrades the contrast. With the LEDs turned down, the camera isn't sensitive enough in the dark - and this product is intended for dark places. With the backscatter, you can't even put the whole thing into a plastic bag for real waterproofing (my first thought) because of the flare. Went without that and got a waterlogged camera as a result.

It is, of course water _resistant_ - there's no sign the water that got in can get back out, without cutting off the plastic cap. I'll do that next, because I have no confidence any replacement product would be better.

Maybe running a bead of superglue around the cap would seal it. Maybe. I can't tell how the water got in. Maybe through the cable. But it's in there, and as a result the product gets at most one star.

The quality of video is quite reasonable for the price and the camera is able to provide decent images; however, it requires a proper sewer snake to attach to. Otherwise, it won't be able to pass the first foot of the pipe or so. After taping it to a 50-foot, 3/8" snake, I was eventually able to move through two 90-deg corners and one 45-deg merge point in a 3" PVC drain. The camera's LED is bright enough to see things, but only when pointed away from the walls and directly down the pipe. When the walls are too close, the whole screen is washed out with white. It's also difficult to keep the camera from flipping upside down inside the pipe, which makes navigation really confusing. Looking back, probably the best idea would have been to mount the camera on some wheels to hopefully provide proper vertical orientation, make it easier to roll downhill, and keep away from the walls.

I bought it to inspect some hot air ducts and it did the job. I've seen others complain about the cable not being rigid enough to push the camera along, I duct taped the camera to the end of a electricians fish tape. It would be nice if you could turn off the led light altogether. Also if the protective cap was replaced with a disk of glass inserted into the end closer to the camera it would stop the lights reflecting back into the camera and blurring the image when the lights were turned up full. I found it easy to use and very helpful. As stated it could be better but I didn't think it warranted taking a star off. Have recommended it already and will continue to do so.
