First Drone Ever and I Love It!

This is my first drone I have ever owned. I looked for something somewhat on the less expensive side in case it breaks or gets lost in the blue yonder like some reviews I read for other drones. I crashed this thing at least a dozen times and it keeps on going. Almost lost it when my first attempt at flying it using wifi (i don’t suggest it) and it hovered into the street and landed right in the middle. Some guy pulled over and grabbed so it wouldn't get ran over, God bless him. It seemed to have a mind of it’s own, but honestly, I think it was that I don’t know how to fly it, especially with wifi. After that incident, I used the controller and it worked great, got a good feel of it pretty quickly.

The instructions are clear and easy to understand. This does not take a memory card, all pics and video is transmitted through the wifi connection to your phone via the app needed. I did have to remove the app and reinstall when it would not connect the second time I used it. For a beginner or child it’s tons of fun and easy to use. Perfect entry level drone and the price is very reasonable. Comes with 2 batteries which last for about 15 minutes each (main reason I bought this one). I highly recommend this drone.

Instruction manual is confusing and useless

The drone itself is very nice especially for the price. The problem is with the instruction manual. Whoever wrote this manual is obviously not from the US. It doesn't follow in any logical sequence and does not explain various features of the drone and operation of the drone. For instance, the manual talks about a Mode 1 and a Mode 2 but never explains what the difference is and how to access Mode 1 or Mode 2 while operating the drone.

Smooth flight Once I figured out the controls the flight got a little easier to navigate. The flight time on the drone is over 2 hours, averaging about 45-60 mins per battery once fully charged. The control that was provided is comfortable to the touch.

Fun toy to learn and fly on.

Great toy. Yes, this is more of a toy than those expensive things people use for photography. That said, it is something to learn to fly with. You won’t worry about crashing as much, and if you are learning like I am, you will crash.
The APP is not as intuitive as it could be, mainly because there is only labels to explain things in the help. I am using an old iPhone 7s as an XR with case is too big for the controller and I wanted something dedicated. The feed is laggy, I did try on the XR and an iPad just to make sure, so FPV would be difficult.
My next issue is trim control. It doesn’t really work. I had the guards on (I still crash a bit) so I know the balance is off. I tried to use the trim to correct it but the drone still would wander. The plus side is that I am getting better with fine stick control to keep it steady and level.

Flight time is near the 12 minutes when calm. I was also impatient when I received this and tried it when there was a breeze, so flight time was shorter since I was fighting to control the drone to hover.

Which brings me to the charger. It confused me. The usb cable lights up when not charging and no light when charging? The note in red in the book then contradicts this. Why not have a light when it is charging and turn off when done? Also, it’s on the cable, no indicators on the battery (cost saving?)

Photo/video quality is decent. Not like a high end drone, this was only $60 so don’t expect much. That said, it is way better than other toys I have bought with cameras. The angle is adjust before flight (I did not see any thing to indicate you have remote access in the app, but the app isn’t very clear to use its functions except for being labeled). And the video was good as well.

For a toy to learn to fly with, I am very happy. It is a stepping stone for me to get a higher end drone which will have features that will seem like luxuries after flying this drone. Think learning on a manual stick car and then driving an automatic in traffic.

This is a good drone for beginners but keep in mind:
- No outdoors, it will fly away with the wind.
- battery may detach if the drone drops from a high altitude. In that case, if you are not able to reach the drone, then you won’t be able to restart the drone and recover it.
- flimsy material for the protector pads. Each helix protector is attached via 1 small screw. If the screw breaks then you won’t be able to put the protector back on.
- the remote control is good and fun. It has a quick button for a stunt/flip. But cannot mount your phone to it.
- phone controls are not responsive enough.
- camera function not working properly

The packaging is awesome! I've personally never seen a case as good as this one. Everything has a place and fits securely and safely. With some of my other drones it's a hassle to carry a remote, battery, drone and other pieces out to my car to go fly, but with this one you just throw the case in your trunk or on your back and your'e good to go! There are a couple zippered pockets for any extra things you want to throw in. A+. The controller is very cool. It is sturdy, and the fold out arms are very comfortable and not just a gimmick. The gimbals are smooth and the tension seems to be about perfect. I love that it comes with it's own rechargeable internal battery. Just make sure you charge the controller every time you charge the two batteries for the drone to make sure you don't run out of power during a flying sesh like I did!
