All I can say is that if you have any doubt on the backing out power of this tool, forget it. This thing ain't playin !
If feels balanced. I didn't have any problem with the fwd/rev ergonomics. I cradled it sideways with two hands and 3 and 9 Oclock.
It is a heavy tool, but I dont mind it. I rather it be heavy and solid. For anyone new to impact drivers, be careful with putting bolts back on.
Just like with my smaller dewalt impact driver, i'm sure this would drive bolts on too tight and likely snap off some bolts--->if you dont stop quickly when the nut hits bottom. Same goes with starting bolts to put back on.
If you aren't experienced using an impact driver , start nuts by hand...then drive them in until they first hit bottom and STOP quickly. Then final torque by hand. As you get a feel for an impact driver then you can torque it down a more with an impact driver. Be careful ! Impact drivers are strong and they will break off bolts or rip threads out of aluminum parts before you know what happened. Don't use this to put your oil drain plug back in !
Lastly, make sure you've got a clean impact socket that fits the nut very snug. Otherwise you can round over the hex points of the nut.
Don't skimp and use a sloppy fitting impact socket. And always visually test the driver direction before you start trying to back out nuts/bolts.
I've use this mostly on my F250 Super Duty. It has no problem with lug nuts and I've used it to remove and rebuild the front and rear axles. It had no problem removing the various suspension bolts that had been in place since 2001 when the pickup was new.
I do not like the directional control on this tool. Something about the weight, handle angle, and where the direction button is located lends to changing the tool direction on accident. I was removing the strut top hats on my car and accidentally switched the gun to tighten instead of loosen. The gun promptly broke the splined bolt loose from the top hat. The bolt was free spinning at that point and had to be cut to get the top hat out of the car.
The work light is great. I like the location on the bottom of the tool. Be sure to pay attention to the power level. I know I've had this on 1 and wondered for a minute why it wasn't working before switching to 3.
I use the 2 Ah battery pack and it is sufficient for personal use. If you were working in a tire shop you would want the bigger battery.

Maybe I got a defected one. All I know is it struggled to take a little Toyota wheel off.
This thing has tons of torque. Use it to change the tires on my trucks (120lbs+) and get the job done flawlessly.
This tool is heavy, feels robust and is ready for years of trouble free usage.
