The light itself is pretty compact, but heavy at the same time, and the magnet is not quite strong enough. It will hold the entire weight of the light, but can easily be knocked off, because the magnet should be stronger for the weight of this light.
My only other slightly negative thing to say is that I wish it was brighter. 130 lumens isn't bad, but working under dark hoods all day, I get used to brighter lights.
All in all, it's a nice reliable light that charges quickly, and is adequately bright for most casual users.
The magnet works great. The stand is ok, it struggles a little on uneven ground (like in a crawlspace). You can also use the holes in the clip to grab a convenient nail to set it on. Small size allows it to fit in my bag w/ my other Dewalt tools.
Too much spot, not enough flood on the light and I have some concerns about a plastic, rather than aluminum, ring around the lens of the light (that's a spot that gets a lot of accidental hits). It is a very bright light and the battery life is excellent.
On/off button is accessible and you can operate it with gloves. It appears splash resistant.
I have it beside my bed (use magnet ) and this is a tactical beam that any intruder would be blinded by it for sure , of course I use it around the house for stuff all the time . I also have the 12volt screw gun that is sold for the same battery and it handy as well .
Very bright and runtime has been great on my older pre-XR 12V MAX batteries. I've dropped it several times, no damage.
This is a must-have tool if you already own some Dewalt 12V MAX battery packs. It is seriously worth the $35. Just try it out.
Thus I charge 2 batteries up and have one upstairs in the bedroom and the 2nd on the 1st floor for emergencies and the like. Then when I need to use tools either upstairs or down I just use those from these lights.
