Not sure what happened to people with bad experiences. I purchased this impact wrench mainly for my strut work. It loosed wheel lug nuts no problem. A couple of seconds of hammering and the nuts came out smoothly. Then I tried it on lower strut bolts which are torqued to 156 ft-lb. This time it took it several 2~3 seconds of hammering to loose them. I also used it to compress springs, and install all nuts, with torque wrench for final torque down of course. It saved a lot of my time, effort and my back. Overall I'm very happy with this impact wrench.
It's a little bit heavier than I expected but you need two hands to hold it when using it anyway. It's very loud when hammering but it's normal, not a con.

With this in your holster, you will be a king. You'll have no problems loosening 'em up or pounding 'em in. My breaker bar no longer gets any action.

In all seriousness, this impact wrench is fantastic. Wheel nuts, axle nuts, suspension nuts and bolts come out with ease. I purchased a corded impact wrench because I enjoy working on my cars and sometimes finding a good angle and getting enough leverage with a breaker bar is nearly impossible. I don't have an air compressor nor do I want the clutter of having one and I didn't want to purchase a cordless model for a lot more money with limited-life batteries.

With all that said, here are some tips for this product:
-Use a short 12 ga extension cord. The power of this wrench will reduce drastically with diminished current.
-If you purchase the detent pin unit, give the pin a couple passes with a file to easily remove sockets.
-Lube anything you use this wrench on to reduce the chance of breaking something.
-Probably the most important: An impact wrench builds-up power with each strike. I have no doubt this wrench puts out 300+ ft/lb, but it will take some time to build up to that torque. So hold that trigger down and beat that bolt out.

The only shortcoming I've found provided that you follow the tips above is that the trigger sometimes binds in reverse. I haven't had time to figure out if this user-error due to my gloves or maybe a defective trigger (perhaps a burr on the plastic that makes it bind), but since it only happens in reverse, it's not enough to dock this wrench even one star.

I torque my lug nuts no more than 80 pounds. It took them right off but so what? Well, it means, I can jack the car up then remove the lug nuts instead of braking them loose first, worth the price of admission right there. I had an axle go bad and the shop refused to torque the axle nut. They used an impact gun. It should have been 145 pounds and it was more. So this thing zipped it right off and I re-torqued it. For tougher things, trying letting it hammer away, that hammering action will loosen most things. Along with some PB blaster you can loosen most things on a car with this.

This impact comes without instructions as to usage. At first I did not like it at all, but I was using it wrong. The tool does not develope the torque at the motor, it is developed from the repeated blows on the anvil.

You must let the tool hammer on the bolt until the bolt loosens. This may take up to 30 seconds, then the bolt spins out. I used it to take the rear brake rotors off of a 3500 Sprinter van. These bolts had not been loosened in 150,000 miles. (I bought the van used ). This is going to be a permanent part of my RV toolbox.

It works very well, I have yet to see a bolt that does not give up to this tool. People, who are saying it is worthless for lug nuts probably do not know how to use impact wrenches.

OK so i was trying to remove a pitman arm from my vehicle while doing a suspension lift. it requires using a puller and has a 15/16 bolt to pull the arm off its shaft. well for 3 days i couldnt get enough torque on the pulller including using my air impact gun and 4 gallon 155psi compressor. i also used a 4 foot cheater pipe and couldnt get the thing off.. i plugged this sucker in and let it do its thing and it came off in a few seconds. it is the real deal! i never leave reviews but felt i had to for this! juts remember to let it click, thats the hammer applying its torque. give it time and it will do the job. on a side note, i stripped the nut torqueing it back on the pitman arm using this thing... lol whoops

I do a lot of my own work on my small fleet of cars. Just about everything seems to require removing 1 or 2 of the wheels, and this impact wrench takes the bolts right off. Lots of torque, lots of speed. I bought mine slightly used, but it's in the original box and doesn't have a scratch on it. If you're in the market for an electric impact wrench, this one will probably do the trick for you. I highly recommend it!

After spending time struggling with stuck and difficult bolts on cars, I decided to get an impact wrench. A cheater bar works most of the time, sure, but sometimes the location is hard to fit something like that. I just got to try this out while replacing an engine mount in a hard to reach location, and after spinning off the first bolt in seconds my brother and I just started laughing. This made quick work of the disassembly.

Combine this with some extensions and u-joints and you will be able to easily remove just about anything in the engine bay.

The only downside is the retention pin can make getting sockets off harder than it should. Most of the time I can wiggle them off but sometimes I have to push the detent down with something. I am planning on filing it down a little to make this easier.
