Installing a new patio in my backyard and had 3 concrete slabs to remove. They were far too heavy and thick to pick up in one piece

Enter this concrete chisel.

Technique used:
1) Drill pilot holes into concrete as deep as I could with the drill bits and a cordless dewalt hammer drill
2) Used Chisel (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000NIBFT4/ref=cm_cr_mts_prod_img) and a sledge hammer to then break off pieces of concrete
3) used angle grinder to cut through the rebar

The only hammer drill I had was a cordless Dewalt. i was concerned when purchasing these that the cordless drill would not be able to provide enough omph, but I was totally wrong. The concrete was a mix of stone and concrete. Two of the concrete pieces had rebar inside. These drill bits chomped through the concrete easily and showed no sign of giving up. Several times I had to stop work and let the drill bits cool down as there was smoke coming from the holes, but after a couple of minutes they were ready to go again.

Another great dewalt product.

All in all, great product for a great price.

High quality masonry drill bits. They work like a charm with a high powered hammer drill. It took just a few seconds to drill two inches into concrete. They also work for drilling into brick and concrete cinder blocks. I bought these because it seems like most construction workers have a whole box of Dewalt brand items. They can't all be wrong.

It's like I had been living in a cave before using this. They went through my concrete wall like (relatively) nothing. I could feel the bit murdering the concrete into a dusty gravel, even when it came across the hardest sections where it would otherwise have seemed stuck. I had no idea my humble drill was capable of taking down concrete. And I had no idea how much specified drill bits can make the difference. I'm 20 years old and I'm very new to this world. But after trying this, I'm massively excited to start collecting all sorts of bits and discover what else there is out there.

Regarding Quality:
These things feel like no other regular bits. The metal used is much stronger, and you can tell right out of the box just by the interesting finish. Holding this tool in your hand really merits some respect. It feels strong and characteristic like a bullet. The spirals have a special recognizable pattern and the metal gives off its own characteristic smell. And they're a little yellow-ish. Telling these apart in a large toolkit will be a snap.

Ordered the Dewalt DW5204 Concrete Bits and these have been working out really well.

PACKAGE:

The package arrive damaged. These come in a little plastic pouch which was ripped when the item arrived. The bits were still in the package but just a ripped package so have to be careful now that the bits don't fall out but not a big deal.

DRILL BITS:

The bits have not broken and are still working like new three weeks later of constant use. Using these to drill holes into the wall in order to put anchors to hang items. The drill bits go in really easy without having to put a lot of pressure and have not been chipping the concrete.

Not much else to say other then not a bad item for the price. The packaging isn't to great but wasn't bought for the pretty package.

I only needed one size but it was kind of silly not to pay a few extra dollars for this whole set. The quality isn't great, Dewalt is kind of becoming a cheap brand compared to it's former self. But for household use like I needed it holds up ok. I wouldn't expect these to last long with contractor use.

These Dewalt bits are an affordable set of 4. I needed a set around the house for some basic drilling, so 4 should be enough. Buy larger quantity to make it even cheaper. I suggest never buying random brand bits, because other than looking the same, the material is not the same. Brands like Dewalt have exact proprietary methods for hardening the metals. This provides drill bits that last a long time and stay sharp. I used these on concrete and went in with much less effort and speed than generic brands I had laying around. In fact that is why I got them, my arms cramped out as I tried to drill one hole with the generic brand.

I enginveered my holes (i.e. inverted my tape measure readings) and drilled ½ inch lower than I wanted, BUT the holes I made in my cinderblock wall to install my swivel planter hangers was a snap. These drills were up to the challenge.

Recommend for home enthusiast.

My cordless (not hammer drill) pushed the bits just fine. I was surprised with how well these bits tear right through bricks and mortar. Beware! - My hammer drill uses the push-in-to-lock type bits, which this is not. My cordless (not hammer drill) pushed the bits just fine. I was surprised with how well these bits cut for their cost.
