Maybe my product came defective, I sat on it once and I weigh 125 and in the middle it has started to sink in (in the middle) and is very uncomfortable now. I set this up maybe two weeks ago now and it is already giving me issues. Also the futon is not even, one is higher than the other. In addition you can feel the metal in between. I would not recommend. See pictures.
The gray one is upholstered in a soft, but durable cloth that's (so far) not shown dirt and has held up well as we use it not only to put our feet up, but also to hold backpacks and other items.
These futons are designed to attach together with velcro straps that are found under each piece. With the two pieces configured as you can see in the photo, the gray futon/chaise can be adjusted up so we can also use it for seating when we want to look outside to our patio (as when it's flat, we use it to convert the white futon into a double-chaise.
We positioned this gray single-chaise-futon at the bottom of the white futon sofa with split-adjustable backs and doing so turns the whole thing into a very comfortable double or triple chaise-seating arrangement for our living room/TV center (that when laid flat, offers sleeping surfaces for two guests).
Set up was very easy, but as other reviews noted, you should read the instructions in order to discover the hidden compartment in the base that holds some of the parts needed for assembly. In our case, assembly of both this and the white futon could not have been easier.
We are in an apartment with a type of vinyl flooring and while the legs do have a protective rubber cap at the base, we were concerned about it not sliding or perhaps causing a dent in the flooring if it were in one place for a long period of time. I therefore cut adjesive backed pads for each foot and we've had no issues with the three pieces shifting or moving around or not being absolutely level and stable.Read more ›

Holes in legs did not line up with fastener bolts. Had to file metal plate to insert bolts.
Also, had to relocate hinges as they did not line up. Read more

Loved it--easy to put together by 2 old ladies, solid.
Put a twin mattress on it for a guest and they were comfortable.
