For clarification, the SO-239 is the standard connection to a PL-259. If you are new to radio equipment, you may have just not run into the term before, because they are almost always hard wired into your equipment, but yes, this is probably the part you need to make that turn without worrying about crimping your coax.
As for features it's full of them. It's right angle...made of metal...and...will help with those tight right turns. What can I say, I'm a smidge on the bored side, and figured a review would be a good way to pass the time, because let's be clear...it's just a PL-259 right angle connector, and if you are worried about your feed line loss over the connector when so much of the world is stil using RG 8x while you've got ladder line all the way to your full wave yagi pumping out 1,000 watts on a 100 meter tall tower I'm not so sure why you are buying component from amazon instead of a trusted dealer, but for the bulk of us, this part is going to fit the bill just fine without worrying if it's going to have an immeasurable impact on the wattage at your antenna. 73
I am using it on a dipole, with an RG-213 cable hanging down. I connect and disconnect the cable all the time, and the adapter didn't like it. I suppose if you are using it somewhere where you just set it and forget about it, it should work just fine, no reason why it shouldn't. However, keep in mind that it will fail if you are constantly using it and have a cable hanging down from it.
