Camera: Nikon D4S
Cards: Multiple SD cards, from Transcend 2 GB SD Card (TS2GSDC) to SanDisk Extreme PRO 32GB UHS-I/U3 SDHC and higher.
Tether for import: Apple Lightning to SD Card Camera Reader (MD822AM/A)

With the iPhone 5S and above now able to actually use its internal Photos app to read and import from SD cards using the Lightning adapter, I also needed an SD to CF card adapter, since the Nikon D4S has no SD card slot. We need the adapters to transmit images while shooting breaking news and late sports games, and while my Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ1000 can do this, its 1" chip size makes it hard to justify using it to shoot late night images and footage, like the D4S can. I've already added a GGS Perfect Foldable LCD Viewfinder to the LCD screen because we are required to capture video as well, using the smaller one which fits better than the newer, more expensive one, which didn't fit.

Doesn't work at all in my D700 for Eye-Fi use. All I get is corrupt images. I bought it strictly for this use, but i guess i'll just use it with normal SD cards instead- which work just fine so far.

I used this with a komputerbay 128gb sd card and cheap zif to cf adapter and now my iPod classic is solid state and has 117gb free space. Beware that it comes formatted for exfat which iPod can't use. You need a partition manager to format this to fat32 and rebuild the mbr. It then works perfectly and only took 3 minutes to prepare for the install. In operation the iPod is as snappy as when it had the original hard drive.

Just received this, Right on time. So far just wanted everyone to know that it DOES fit into a Nikon D800. Good Bye Compact flash hello SD cards!! The only negative thing is that to insert/remove the sd card you have to remove the entire CF adapter in order to access the side where the sd card gets inserted.

I purchased this adapter because many high-end DSLRs seem to be moving away from the CF format in favor of the smaller, less-expensive SD format. I'm afraid it won't be long until CF cards will be hard to find. Also, most new desktop and laptop computers have an SD card slot. Since I own several DSLRs that use CF cards, I wanted to be sure that I had the means to move along with the technology. This adapter works as advertised. Just insert an SD, SDHC, or SDXC card into the adapter and then put the adapter into the CF slot of the camera. The camera knows no difference. A great device at a reasonable price that will extend the useable life of many older DSLRs.

As SD cards becomes faster and can hold more data than compact flash, it no longer makes sense to use these in cameras since most devices communicate through SD. However, even the latest Canon 5DSR model still uses a compact flash. This device is the answer to overcoming the utilization, speed and storage limitations of compact flash. I do not sense this adapter limiting the speed of the SD card. Now I can read both storage bays of my Canon camera with my laptop. I don't like to use the Camera connection except when remotely operating the camera because the strain relieve is a pain to use. SD is less expensive than compact flash.

So I own many SD cards (usually most more affordable than CF) and wanted to take advantage of the CF slot on my Canon 5D Mark III DSLR.

I'm glad I did my research first and that the 5D Mark III takes this Type I CF (not Type II which will be too thick to fit)

I was worried about performance hit, or if it would even work for that matter, and although people may think this just converts SD to CF with no performance hit, this is actually not quite true.

It even states on the packaging in very small fineprint "Please be noted that this adapter will not accelerate the inserted media; it only converts the real access speed of the media. There is a theoretical performance limit on 25MB/s"

I inserted a 64GB Lexar 150MB/sec 1000x SD card into CF adapter using Lexar USB 3 reader and it was copying my files to a limiting 25 MB/sec. When I removed it from the CF card, it read/wrote much faster.

There is no spring, so it can also be difficult to remove and it may pop out not the way you intend to using your nails.

Pros:
- Converts SD to CF (works with 5D Mark III)

Cons:
- 25MB/sec performance hit
- Difficult to remove (be careful as it keeps flying out when I try to move it with my finger nails)
