These are NOT 100% cotton!! Color transfer to floor. Cannot wash!!! DO NOT BUY!!!!!!

I love rags rugs because they are so easy to care for (normally). However, besides the fact that they are advertising this 100% cotton when the product label clearly states "undetermined fiber content," you also cannot wash these rugs like you can normal rag rugs. The label states "shake briskly to clean or spot clean." Ok, gross. Also, because of the dyes they use, it's possible to transfer the color to your floor. They recommend you put something underneath the rug to keep this from happening. So, what was the point of my buying rag rugs because they're easy to care for? Ugh! I'm ticked about the false advertising of 100% cotton and the fact that I shouldn't put these in the washer. I even had little pieces of the rug falling all over the floor. I have never seen such bad work in my life. My mom used rag rugs when I was little and now I've bought them since leaving home. These are by far the worst "craftsmanship" (I use that term loosely) I've ever experienced with these types of rugs and I used to buy rag rugs at Walmart!! Guess what? I'm going back to Walmart to purchase them in the future. After I washed them, they left all of this yellow grit in the bottom of my washer and took forever to clean out. DO NOT BUY!!!!!!!!

Ok, I went into this having read all the reviews. I knew it was a crapshoot. Some said it had prickly stays that hurt if you stepped on them. Some said they were comfy. Some said the color was messed up. Some loved the color. Some complained about the quality. Some raved about the quality.

In my opinion everything is great, the quality is good, there is nothing pokey in the rug that I’ve found and my toddlers crawl all over them with ease. I knew I’d need a rug mat to keep the rug from slipping so I got that. My only complaint is that I ordered gray rugs (two runners for my kitchen). They are definitely purple, not gray. Maybe lavender would be a better description. Regardless at least they are both the same color of purple and match. I’ve gotten a compliment or two so they can’t be that horrific. The picture doesn’t do them justice but whatever, they were cheap enough and I’ll enjoy them.

Update: the more I look at them the more annoyed I get by their purple hue. In fact, there is nothing gray about them. I sat there and tried to find a single gray strand and couldn’t on the entire rug. Again, at least they both match, but purple was not what I was going for.

So beautiful! This rug is gorgeous it's just too big for our space so I sent back for three smaller ones that I will stick together. Sadly, they don't make it in a runner size.
I am completely in love with the color. Completely. I loath to return it but like I said, since I live in a Tiny House there just isn't room for it :(

EXCITING UPDATE: I decided to keep it and use it on my pallet sofa (the color is rather dull in the photo it is vibrant & bright in real life). I am totally in love with it and can't stop staring at the beautiful colors. It is seriously one of the most beautiful rugs I have ever seen. I wish I could cover every inch of my house in this material.

I'm sad to read about other peoples less then satisfied experiences with these rugs. I have not yet had any issues. Will update if I do.

The versatility of rag rugs

Since 2001, I have lived with rag rugs like these, bought in other states and oddly at the price offered here, and have also bought them from Amazon recently. I’ve actually been happier with these DII Contemporary Reversible Floor Rugs than all the others because they don’t have the fringe on the end that the ones I’d bought before had. Rag rugs are wonderful because of their versatility, especially if you’re a cat owner. I have used them as cushioning in cat carriers when I had to take them to the vet or to move. I’ve used them to cover chair seats and places on the sofas for my cats to sleep on. They’ve come in handy when someone was coming over and there was a stain on the floor. They’ve been great as bedside rugs in rooms with wood flooring. They’re great when you have a sudden large wet emergency such as the dishwasher leaking; grab a bunch of these and they soak up water well. Right now I’m using them out on my back porch to cover the backs and seats of what used to be a nice set of upholstered dining chairs that have come to ruin from 35 years of owning them. Refurnishing my back porch is on my list for this summer, but these will do for now. No one would guess the chairs “had issues” seeing these rag rugs on the chairs. I have never had a single problem with dyes in the fibers running. They stack beautifullly on top of shelves and are easy to grab without disturbing the others. My supply was growing short from giveaways to people who admired them and needed some like them, from traveling and losing one or two along the way, and from ones simply wearing out. There is some occasional problem with getting them snagged on something and a rag piece coming out too far; those I just clip off. The DII rugs are ones I considern prettier and better made than the ones I bought in the past. As said earlier, I have bought them, here from Amazon (the moment I saw them) and plan to buy more of them.

I purchased three rugs, one multi and two aqua. The multi colored rugs seems to be better made than the aqua. The aqua rugs, which were purchased for my bathroom, leaked dye onto the floor after getting wet. I have washed the rugs, and while the multi colored one is still intact, the aqua have several broken threads, and multiple bits of fabric poking out on both sides. The aqua also leaked dye onto the towels I washed with the rugs. I guess I have to live with it...you get what you pay for, it's a rag rug after all...

Love this rug! It cost me $5, I still can't believe it and my cats love it too, they never would go into my bathroom before I got this (strange for cats...I know) but now? Like roll around on it and I know this because when I get home in the evenings, the rug is pushed up against the toilet. The rug is very sturdy and while it's not as soft as a regular bathroom rug, it does the trick and adds a nice accent to my bathroom floor.

We purchased as a rug to use next to our patio door. The first thing my wife and I noticed is it is well stitched, it seems as if it manufactured in a manner that is going to last. We have three boys and they are in and out using the patio quite a lot. We have experienced that it is easy to clean and has no trouble handling water brought in from outside. An added bonus is that it looks really great in our space!
We also bought a larger one. My wife and I were looking for an rug to help pull out tv room together but we weren't interested in spending the crazy money that they cost due to having 3 boys that are 5 and under.
This rug I can tell you is worth the price and they honestly could charge more! It is well made, well stitched, very durable. It is also very comfortable on the feet and has become the new favorite place to relax for our two oldest boys and our 1 year old kitty.
I wasn't sure about rag rugs before by this, now, I am sure I will be getting us a few more.

I was a bit worried because some reviewers said that the colours run in the wash, but I've washed it several times and have never had an issue, even when I accidentally washed it on 'warm' rather than 'cold'. It's held its shape well too.
All in all a good purchase and would buy the same again if the need arose.
