Addressing the remote to your receiver.
1. Press the system info button on the front of your receiver to access the system info screen.
2. Press and hold down the SAT button on the remote until all the lights are lit.
3. Enter a number 1-15 on the remote keypad. **The number on your screen next to the TV-2 UHF**
4. Press the pound(#) button once.
5. Press the record button 3 times.
6. Select done on the system info screen and test the functionality.
I also recommend replacing the little antenna on your receiver.Use a cable with a F type connector at the receiver and open at the other end. I ran my cable approx.. 50' through center of basement ceiling and remotes work in every room without lag or lost signal.
Ordering 2 additional remotes allowed me to use my VIP 722K DUO like a hopper, I just split the TV-2 signal and ran throughout my house (all the split signals are the same as TV-2). 2 extra rooms of TV without the extra cost.
2/11/2014 So happy with current setup, now ordered enough to make every TV in house work with DVR rather than with solo receiver.
This is the official Dish brand remote and it came with easy instructions for pairing with the receiver. Everything was set up quickly and now I'm rocking two UHF remotes. Since it uses radio waves instead of infrared, you don't have to point the remote at the receiver. I love that aspect of it and quite honestly probably would have loved the remote if I had bought it before having plasma IR issues. It works just like a regular IR remote, with no lag or missed button pushes.
Five stars because its the official Dish remote, its cheap, and it does what a remote is supposed to do.
First, it sounds like you must have the blue TV2 key to replace the green TV1 key that comes on this DISH211 4-Device Universal Remote. I removed the TV2 key from my old Dish remote that I was replacing. To install the TV2 key correctly:
-Pull the remote battery cover off
-Separate the green "1" key (located at the bottom of the top of your remote) from the remote by inserting your thumbnail or coin in the crease. Remove the key by grasping at the bottom
-Insert the blue "2" key face up and slide into place
-In the left side of the battery compartment, verify the UHF/IR switch is set to UHF. I have no clue what this means, but it didn't work when I tried it with it set on IR.
-Insert 4 AAA batteries ensuring the + ends match the diagram
-Replace the remote battery cover
-Turn your receiver and TV on, and press SYSTEM INFO on the front of the receiver
-Once you see the SYSTEM INFO screen, press the remote's SAT button and it should light up.
-Then press the remote's RECORD button, and the SAT button should light up again.
-Use the TV1 remote to click "Done" to close out of the SYSTEM INFO screen.
-Go to the your remote TV2 location and click the GUIDE button. Confirm that your remote operates your receiver by pressing remote buttons.
I was upset because I thought this remote didn't work well on TV2, but I found out that the back light of the TV can create uhf interference. So turning it down on the TV1 television reduces the interference. You don't have to turn it down much. By reducing the Backlight (via the TV's menu of the TV1 TV) 2 points, thisDISH211 remote works MUCH better on my TV2 now! :)
