"THIS BOOK IS PERFECT for those looking for pertinent information in a concise, yet entertaining vehicle. Dr. Binkley, who has seen pregnancy from both sides, comes at the subject from the standpoint that pregnancy is a natural process and not a 'condition' where providers are supporters and advisors, rather than meddlers."
-John C. Hobbins, M.D.,
Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology University of Colorado School of Medicine, Aurora, Colorado

CONS: She mixes in her own experiences occasionally which is sometimes good but as a health care professional.... not always a good thing. I feel options should be presented factually without opinion. Some of the good photos are too small to see detail. :( She discusses homebirth ... good :)...but clearly steers the reader away from that option. It just isn't my style of teaching. Let the reader decide with good information and education.
As a lactation professional, I do not recommend this book for breastfeeding information. All breastfeeding books can get outdated quickly. It is the interjection of personal opinion of breastfeeding management, sometimes not entirely correct that concerns me the most.
I do recommend this book. I think it does an excellent job of telling you what to expect and what to look out for if things aren't right. There is just enough information, but not too much. Lots of women lug around other thicker books on pregnancy; this one they are more likely to actually read.
