D.J. Disco mix is a great cd that provides a nice continuous disco sound. Buy the cd just to get the awesome star wars disco remix! It's sure to be the talk of the party.

I am a Disco Daddy I was then it all started I love to dance and the music was so incredible, yes I know to many it was just something to make fun of, but if you couldn't dance had no rhythm and bitter about it, well you missed out. I love all genres of music this one is special because I was a freshman in college and all was new and slick and the music on this CD, has it all!!!

Most of the 20 tracks on this 2 disc set are the usual suspects. If you want a disco mix that involves a some underground disco songs, look elsewhere. These discs feature mostly pop/disco hybrid tracks and some funk. Unlike others who have commented on this compilation, I have no problem with the fact that songs of different genres are represented here. In the 70s and 80s djs in NYC discos used to spin disco music side by side with funk, so why get upset about it now?

My biggest problem with this mix is that is is more of a compilation of songs than a continuous mix. Basically, someone just sequenced the tracks and didn't leave any silent gaps between tracks (usually). Some minor editing is done, however, so that the final drum hit of one track does usually correspond to the initial drum hit of the next song. If you just want to hear a series of fun tracks from early 80s and late 70s, and you are not really into DJ culture and dance culture, this will probably not bother you.

Since I have criticized this set, it is only fair I suggest better alternatives:
Check out Ben Liebrand's continuous mix sets (he has several, BUT do note that he has released a ton of compilations as well. make sure you know what you are looking at)
Also check out Larry Levan's mix cds (they include Paradise Garage, Live at Paradise Garage, and Journey into Paradise). Hist stuff focuses more on 80s disco, but he is THE disco DJ in the minds of a lot of people.

At college, we listen to this all the time at parties. Everyone might deny they like disco, but after a few drinks everybody is booging down!
