Created for aerial filmmaking and photography, the Phantom 3 4K from DJI features an integrated 12MP camera attached to a 3-axis gimbal. Apart from 12MP JPEG or RAW photos, the drone camera can record cinema-spec DCI 4K (4096 x 2160) at 24 fps and UHD 4K (3840 x 2160) at 30 fps. With the included flight battery, the quadcopter camera can fly for up to 25 minutes, depending on conditions. A 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi link with range extender allows you to use the venerable DJI Go app for live HD monitoring and camera control. Additionally, you can access intelligent flight control features tailored to needs of the filmmaker, including Follow Me, Course Lock, Home Lock, and waypoint navigation. This bundle kit is a great starter package for a beginning photographer, instructional use or an expert in photography.

I read other's review about this product and noticed the complaints about communication error and IMU not initializing. I thought my unit might be different because I was buying close to a year since issue was discovered. I was wrong. Unit failed to fly out of the box. Unit arrived neat and tidy, no physical issues. Only problem was motors not starting. I went to the YouTube school and tried to fix the issue myself. Nothing worked. I had to contact DJI and send back the drone for repair. Cost of repair was way too high (about 60% of the cost of the unit for a less than 1hr repair activity as billed on their site). Thank goodness unit was still under warranty so I didn't have to pay afterall. I've tested unit on its return and it worked well. Before buying, be sure (however that can be done) that it would fly. Cheers!
Very easy to learn to control. The controller is very intuitive. Give the manual a good read before you start flying.
I have had a few good shots with this drone up to now and I am very happy with it.
It comes with everything you need to fly straight out of the box (need to charge the batteries first though).
2 sets of propellors are included in a nice bag. the 16Gb memory card you get is more than enough to cover the 25 min of flight time you get on a full charge. I have had about 23 min per flight, this depends on the weather conditions too.
Definitely a recommended drone from my point of view and usage.
However, on the app, there was a red bar that said "No Signal". This was even though I could move the camera with the controller. Somehow the app was saying that they weren't connected. If the red "no signal" bar is there, you will not be able to fly or takeoff. (The camera still works, but you have to fly the drone around with your hands like you were a little kid)
It turns out this is a VERY common problem with the 4K.
Take a look at the hundreds of YouTube videos showing you how to "fix" this:
Here's the problem. Nothing in those videos worked, except the videos that said that after they had tried everything, they sent it back to DJI and it was actually fixed.
This means that if you buy this drone, and get the red "no signal" bar, you will almost certainly be immediately sending it in to DJI for repair. How crazy is that?
Fix your software DJI.
