First let me say, the seller has gone above above and beyond helping with this product. I have a problem with the drone itself.

I found instructions to be lacking - a very basic fold out for an expensive piece of equipment. No where does it warn you that you can't do first person view with the included camera and drone. If you try to use the GoPro app on an iPhone - crash & burn. You'll lose the ability to control the drone as they operate on the same frequency (so why were the put together as a package in the 1st place??) I got the majority of training & other instructions via the web. Rather a large waste of time.

I had an issue with the camera 'bobbing' while I was flying. Returned it to the seller who quickly responded - there is an 'anti-interfearance' circuit board that needed to be plugged in and installed with double sided tape on the bottom of the drone. Classy workmanship for an expensive piece of equipment. Of course there was no mention of this in the assembly instructions - had to find this out via YouTube b

Taking pictures is a huge problem as you can't be sure where the camera is pointing. Unless you want to spring an additional $500 to upgrade to the FPV option. This also makes it difficult to fly as you have to have eyes-on the drone at all times.

Save your money on this. There are plenty of used Phantom 2 out there with cameras for less than half the amount I paid. Now I know why....

I previously had a phantom1. I was hoping the upgrade was worth the money, and brother was it. This thing flies forever, and the 3d gimbal is amazing. The setup is easy, and the calibrations and firmware upgrades are a snap too. The new phantom2 seems to have much improved flight characteristics over the Phantom1. The extra weight of the gimbal does not seem to affect the performance at all. The hardest part was trying to decide if I wanted blue stripes or orange. I went with orange.

This is your aerial video platform. Flexible, reliable, easy to operate. It is a camera operator or DP's airborne tool of choice for under $2000. The Hero3 Black is technically a model behind but this camera itself is almost more impressive than the gimbol and quadrotor. The package is easy to assemble and the aircraft is simple to fly. For the hobbyist, new worlds of photography will be opened up with this device. For the pro photographer, you will now be able to view and shoot scenes and places previously inaccessible by jib, crane or helicopter (low altitude flight restrictions). This is a game changing tool.

OMG How fun is this thing! And add to that the Go Pro? INVALUABLE.

You gotta get one...even if just to screw around.

I need basic instructions and am finding their instructions have not been basic enough for me. I'm a novice. I probably should have started with a Parrot. Now the GoPro camera is not working. It turns on and that's it; nothing works. I can't even turn it off unless I pull the battery. I have been in contact with GoPro. They gave me some things to try and I will do that when I can get back to it. Nothing is easy with this thing. If you want something easy, buy a Parrot (Which I might do. They are a lot cheaper). But if you are up to the challenges, have the money, and want grow and do some really cool stuff, get this unit. There is more to buy if you want to see what the camera sees while flying. I found that out after I bought it. But I'm not sorry I bought it. It's fun to fly. It is a growing and learning process. Get a spare battery if you want to fly it more than 20 minutes. They give you spare propellers. I have already used one after flying into some trees. Growing and learning...

Awesome quadcopter. Have had now for about (2) months. Watch the instructions on the DJI website "http://www.dji.com/product/phantom-2/video" and its not that hard to put together or install. Only had experience with the Syma S107 (http://www.amazon.com/Syma-S107-S107G-Helicopter-Colors/dp/8499000606) and the DJI Phantom 2 is WAY EASIER to fly. The built in navigational system (NAZA) with GPS is insanely accurate once calibrated and allowed to get GPS lock onsite. Take off is as easy as left stick up...same for landing...left stick down. Do NOT calibrate your compass on metal objects (cars, etc). This will interfere with the signal and potentially cause flight malfunctions.

The copter is fairly robust yet lightweight. The Zenmuse H3-3d gimbal is probably the most fragile thing there so if this is your first time flying, I would recommend you fly WITHOUT the gimbal and GoPro a few time to get the hang of landing, taking off, and in the air flying controls. The only issue I have is the USB ribbon cable and connector from the gimbal to the GoPro is extremely flimsy and sensitive. To my knowledge, this is not needed especially if you are not adding a FPV setup to the mix. If you do install it and break it they are only about 5 bucks to fix (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1053706-REG/dji_part56_output_connection_cable_for.html).

When first purchased, I questioned myself, "Why in the world is this possibly worth over 1300 dollars?" Once you fly it and see how easy it can be to fly, then you will understand that DJI has meticulously implemented the algorithms into this device to make it dead simple and precise to fly. Fly forward at 30 to 35+ MPH and let off the stick and watch it halt to a stop with the GPS. Do complex aerial shots with practice.
