I went from a Digital Lifestyles Outfitters VideoShell for iPhone 3G, 3G S (Clear) that worked even after it had tabs broken and gave my phone great protection. For Christmas I received OtterBox Defender Case for iPhone 3G, 3GS (Black)[Retail Packaging], which is pretty great for protecting the phone, but just had a couple of draw backs. So I was on the hunt for a new case for my iPhone. I looked at lots of different styles from lots of different makers and read lots of reviews. i was almost sold on one case till all the reviews spoke of a loss of signal due to the chrome finish. After hours of searching I came back to DLO. I chose this case because it is pretty much like the VideoShell I used to have without the slide out stand on the back. This case also has the neat little rubber nubs. Some might find these odd, but to me they serve a purpose as they help my phone to no slide around in the car as I have it plugged into the stereo for the iPod function. This case also comes with one of DLO's great screen protectors. I have many different DLO products for my iPones and iPods and can not say that I have had a problem with any of them. If you are looking at any accessory and it comes down to something and DLO, go with DLO. You will not be disappointed.

Best Case I've Tried Thus Far - Suck It Otterbox!

I purchased this case around the same time I purchased the 3x more expensive Otterbox case. While the Otterbox case is very protective, it make the iPhone difficult to use. This case is hands down PERFECT! It's slim, and the rubber circles that protrude through the back gives you a firm grip and helps it not slip on surfaces when you place it down. I would recommend this case to protect the sizable investment that is an iPhone 3GS.

I just had my iFrogz Luxe case fall apart on me after 2 weeks of ownership, so I didn't know what to expect from this case.

Let me just say wow. This DLO HybridShell for iPhone 3G, 3G S (Black) is an absolutely incredible case. It is not nearly as thick as the iFrogz and seems much nicer.

The rubber dots on the back is a great touch and keeps the phone from sliding around.

Less impact protection and grit may scratch

I purchased this and the DLO 004-0100 Jam Jacket fits Apple iPhone 3G 8Gb / 16Gb, Apple iPhone 3G S 16Gb / 32Gb - White Clear to choose between for my new, white 3GS iPhone.

I did not choose this because 1)the hard case seemed as though it would offer no impact protection and 2)I've read many reviews that when grit gets in between any hard case and the iPhone, it scratches the heck out of the phone, particularly the chrome band around the side of the phone.

Neither of the two perceived outcomes above induced me to keep this. I gave it two stars because the rubber-y nubs were cool, and did indeed make it easy and non-slip to hold.

I went with the DLO Jam Jacket, linked to above.

Cool looking but frustrating in some ways

Though a neat-looking case, I find myself frustrated with it on a regular basis:

1) The case is very difficult to get off. Yeah, this one isn't coming off with your hands alone. Usually a plastic knife or something along those lines does the trick. This wouldn't be all that problematic if it weren't for #2.

2) This thing collects so many small particles in the tiny space between the plastic of the case and the phone, it's ridiculous... mostly on the front of the display. It's just really irritating to see the acculumation underneath and then not be able to take the damn thing off unless you have "proper tools"

On a more positive note, the black rubber nodes on the back are great for keeping it in place on a sloped surface.

Great fit and look. Most importantly to me, is the secure feel it gives the phone. It doesn't slip out of my hands while typing. As other reviewers pointed out, the only problem is the rubber "bumpers" fall out. I've lost 2 so far.
I would highly recommend this item. Its cool factor is appropriate for such a sophisticated device.
