Transfer means you draw on paper and transfer the pattern to something else like material. Well I don't know why they have transfer in the title at all or even on the package. It is NOT a TRANSFER PEN! It's to draw your pattern right on the fabric. Your pattern then is not transferable to anything else. So beware! It's a good marker but I have hundreds of markers. I wanted a transfer pen which this is NOT!

I have used this a few times. It's easy to use and it washes out very easily so there's no worry about it staining the fabric. The only thing that I don't like is that it bleeds beyond the line that I'm trying to mark. I have to count the squares when I'm sewing to double check which line the mark is supposed to be on. It sometimes covers the first line and makes it hard to see the squares when sewing. I think the point of the marker should be finer to fix this problem. I wouldn't buy this one again. I've included a photo of a piece of fabric that I gridded using the marker so you can see the bleeding. Also with the tip being so big, it's harder to keep it on the line when marking the fabric, it jumps to the next line too easily. You need to be quick when marking your fabric. I found that it's better to make two passes on the line with a light hand so that the line is dark enough without excessive bleeding from holding it too long on the fabric.

Works and washes out easily but bleeds into other lines

A great fabric transfer pen! Works exactly as intended. Washes out with cold water using minimal effort. I made some changes during my last project and just dabbed it with a damp, cold rag and the spot came off with ease. The marker takes some getting used to when running across the fabric bc the tip is pretty dry, it's hard to get those details on sometimes but I'm sure it gets easier with pracrice. The price and function of this pen is right, definitely worth the buy.

The first few times I used I, I just wet the cross stitch I was working on and the pen would disappear but reappear when they fabric dried. I saw someone else soak their work and tried that, and have had any pen leftover since!

I bought some very nice all-cotton pillowcases--so soft! And so plain white! So I decided to embroider a simple border on the edge and used this pen to give myself some guide lines to go by. The 4 stars instead of 5 is because it bled badly into the cotton so I had a kind of blobby line to follow. Not a problem, and it does wash out easily when you are done, but I would have loved a true fine-point line instead of something that looked more like a crayon had drawn it. But...still very useful.

I had been searching for a washable medium to use for putting patterns on fabric for embroidery. Most of what I encountered was transfer paper that left marks that did not wash off, and so I had to be extremely careful when using it to apply a pattern. This pen is a life saver! The blue ink is faint, so it can be a little bit of a challenge on darker fabrics (but I don't think it was really designed for that purpose), but it's marvelous on everything else. And if I screw up when tracing the pattern, the ink comes right up with a damp cloth. The pen works beautifully and I can achieve think and thick lines with it. I highly recommend this if you like to "go off book" with your embroidery work.

Imagine my surprise when the lines reappeared!! I have been through the process of attempting to get rid of the lines repeatedly and they always show back up in the same places and also in new spots... like it is spreading through the fibers instead of disappearing. So frustrating!!! I just hope I can save this piece I have already invested time in with a stain removal stick.

I was SO excited to find this product! I do hand embroidered hoop pieces and pencil often leaves behind lines when you hand-draw your own designs. Well.... this marker is worse. 😩 At first I was very excited . I tested it on scrap fabric before beginning and it came clean easily! After half of my project was complete I started “erasing” the blue transfer lines.

I truly enjoyed this pen! I used it to transfer an image of my grandparent’s house onto fabric to then embroider for my mother’s Christmas gift. It went on very easily and didn’t bleed. When I was finished with the whole design (which included mostly white thread) I simply rinsed it all off in cold water and it came right out. No blue stayed behind! Will definitely be stocking up on these.

I have wasted my money
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on October 29, 2014Size: 1 PackVerified Purchase
There is only one review here on Amazon.co.uk. I wish I'd read the American reviews on Amazon.com.!! It doesn't do what I want, which is to transfer a drawing via tracing paper. It's just a washable marker. The product descrition does NOT make this clear. I don't know how to transfer an image that I have drawn or found onto fabric. I googled it, and it suggested using a transfer pen , with which you could trace the image and then use a hot iron to apply it to the fabric. I thought this was such a pen, being misled by the word "transfer". Even in the American reviews, some people seem to use the words "draw" and "trace" synonymously, though two ladies made the same mistake as I did
Well, more fool me, I suppose! I have wasted my money, and still can't embroider the design I want to. Grateful for any advice!!
