Directions

Apply Snapshot in early spring prior to germination of target weeds, in late summer to early fall, or any time immediately after cultivation. Following application, monitor weed control over time to determine if additional applications may be needed. Depending on the weeds to be controlled, apply the labeled rate of 2.3 to 4.6 pounds per 1,000 square feet, using a rotary spreader.

So we have a large property in the woods with tons of flower beds etc. Weeds are a BIG PROBLEM where we live. My husband works in construction and his professional landscaper vendor told us about Snapshot. He said preen only lasts about 3 months and Snapshot lasts 9 months!!! The full season if you put it down at the right time of year. It's a bit expensive but it's worth saving you the backbreaking time pulling weeds.

Here's the important thing - do not put it down until you get at least 1/2" of rain that night or the next day or so.

Or I guess if you are doing a smaller-ish area you could just water heavily.

I LOVE this stuff and highly recommend it.

Also - be sure to take precautions to protect your skin etc - just like preen and the others - this is a chemical

I put this out in February when the temps started to warm to nip aggressive weeds of multiple varieties that took over my s. Florida lawn last year despite keeping the grass cut at almost 4 inches to shade and crowd out the buggers. I did not see as many weeds initially. I also put out weed and feed about a month later and did a lot of hand weeding early in the season. By June, though, there were different kinds of weeds starting to grow and the nut sedge was going nuts. So, I think I missed the germination cycle of some of the buggers cause pre emergents probably don't last 3 months here. The lawn is definitely better than last year, though, so I think this product helped. Next year, I'm going to try to put it out twice spaced by 60-75 days to catch the later germinating weeds and cover me from February to June.

Get Quinclorac 75 DF instead of this. Dont get me wrong, this stuff works great and deserves 5 stars. But its VERY expensive. I recently learned that nearly everything you put in your lawn can be purchased in liquid concentrate. Get sprayers, even a pricey tow behind sprayer. It will pay for itself if you buy everything in concentrated form.

This was recommended by a fellow hybridizer who used it on multiple acres. I use it on smaller hybridizing plots and it seems to work quite well. However it does not work on such things as quack grass which I deal with separately.

I apply it in Fall and Spring, just as vegetation has gone down or before it starts. I follow the dosing directions. I also use a full mask with eye protection because the silica can cause lung injury or worse. Simply follow the instructions.

I would strongly recommend this product for general purpose use for the species as indicated and taking the precautions as stated. I also wear nitrile gloves, long trousers and shirts and wash cloting immediatly upon completion. Just watch out for the silica.

I've used this product for years. By using it in beds around bushes and flowers every six months there were very few weeds to deal with. I find that it works best to put out in February and August. It will not rid you of the weeds that have already germinated but it will keep them from starting.
