The picture the supplier provided didn't show the side of the bowl well, and I thought it was a completely smooth bowl on the outside. I was trying match the design of other larger bowls I have, but these did not look the same. As you can see in the picture I took, they have a ring/edge near the bottom. They match the color of my other bowls, so I decided to just keep and use them. Very good quality.
