My first book was my autobiography. i.e. "Consistently Persistent,Living with the Tourette Trifecta". Writing this book was a very enlightening experience even for me. It taught me that if you employ the principle of "Consistently Persistent" you can over come any and all obstacles. Regardless of how overwhelming they might seem at the time. I believe in this philosophy so strongly that I preachit to anyone and everyone who will listen because I know from personal experience that it DOES work. That attitude of never giving up literally saved my life on a couple of different occasions which Idetail in the book. It also taught me that we can do some pretty amazing things if we just try instead of making excuses about why we cannot do something. I never thought that I could or would be a writer. But I guess I was wrong.

My second book, "My Do's and Don't's for Raising a Bully-Proof Child" was an outgrowth of my first book. I grew up being bullied in more ways than I even realized existed. I have survived everything life has thrown at me. I was bullied physically,emotionally, and even intellectually. I learned more about bullying than even I already knew about. I learned new information about everything from childhood bullying to parental bullying to cyber-bullying and everything in between. I may not be an expert.There are very few of those in anything. But I am considered to be extremely knowledgeable on the subject of bullying. I speak about the subject on a local basis as of right now.

I have already started on my third book. It will be a children's book.The title as of right now will be "Little Bit, the Black Belt Kitty visits.......( some country) ". The purpose of the book will be to teach children two distinct things. First, I will attempt to teach them about the cultures of many different countries that they may not already be familiar with. Second, to teach children as many different values as possible like honesty, courtesy,responsibility, and on and on. I can easily see this growing into a series of books.

This is the nickel version of my life story.

I grew up in Southeast Dallas, Texas ( That section of Dallas is known as Pleasant Grove. Trust me when I say, it was anything but pleasant. ) It was and still is a very rough part of Dallas. Unbeknownst to me at the time I had been born with Tourettes Syndrome ( TS ), Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder ( OCD ), and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder ( ADHD ). During the mid-1990's I coined the phrase Tourettes Trifecta to describe my situation. My father was a violent alcoholic, my mother was an addict, and my brother was both. I developed PTSD before I was 16 because of how violent my father was or so says Dr. Vasavada, a psychiatrist.

After dropping out of high school in the eleventh grade ( The 2nd time thru. This is very misleading because about twenty years later it would be determined that my IQ was 141. This is considered genius level. It turns out that I was just bored in high school. ) So, I joined the military in the hopes of escaping the daily bullying from the neighborhood kids. Unfortunately, that did not go as planned. I was still being bullied because of the tics that are part of the trifecta.

After being discharged from the military I got into commercial sales. I did really well but it was the corporate politics that finally drove me away. So I started my own business on the side working as a maintenance man while still in sales. For the next twenty-seven years, I was self-employed. I owned a residential maintenance business. When I was sixty-four I started writing. Since then I have written three books, and more articles than I can even remember that have been published in other people's books, magazines, Newspapers, ( I was an Op-ed columnist for The Dallas Morning News for about a year. ) and online than I can even remember.

This will give you a very good idea of what kind of life I have lived. My complete autobiography is currently for sale on Amazon. It is titled "Consistently Persistent, Living with the Tourette Trifecta." It has been anything but dull. Trying as hell maybe, but never boring.

My Dos And Don’ts For Bully Proofing Your Child, by Markus Horner. Horner’s story could have been my story. Suffering a number of disabilities, he was bullied by his father, his classmates and later, even adults, so he knows what it’s like. Like Horner, I too was bullied as a child. I too was told to ‘deal with it’, to ‘suck it up,’ admonished ‘not to be so sensitive’ by my parents. None of this was helpful or effective in warding off either bullies or ‘mean’ girls.
Also like Horner, I struggled to find found ways to cope. These included using humor, keeping my head down, and other attempts to ignore the bullies. Recognizing the signs of bullying is the first step. With statistics and personal anecdotes, My Dos and Don’ts For Bully Proofing Your Child, will resonate with everyone who has ever been bullied. It will also resonate with parents, teachers and other stakeholders. After all, bullying is nothing new, it has been going on far as long as there have been children--- and bullies. Alas, social media has increased it to a whole, new dimension. I enjoyed reading this book. It related so much, I was a helicopter parent. Always making sure that my children were "safe" until one of my kids got bully at school. I wish I knew about this book before, I tried so many things that didn't work. This book is so useful and practical. It makes me reflect and put together a plan of action as a "parent". I highly recommended.

His tips offer solid advice to parents on how to help their children be less likely to be targeted by a bully and how to handle if they are already the target. Using personal experience and examples from real people, it makes it more relatable. While there is no way to completely shield children from bullies, this book will help parents to reduce the chances. Overall, very good read.
