Another Vampire book?
All good questions.
Here's our response...
What if the "RELICT BOOK SERIES" dealt with issues not oftenrelated to vampires in past books, stories, movies, and TV?
What if the world we depict has vampires facing the realityof their existence in two profound ways...
1) The ongoing challenge inherent with immortality.
2) The other is a compelling existential threat - thepotential extermination of their food supply, which will mean their extinctionas well.
What if the world had been pretty much destroyed by the samespecies which you feed on... a species you need to help keep alive so yourexistence will continue. How do you reconcile that relationship?
Certainly there would be both love and resentment, as thereoften times are, toward those who bring you into this world.
What we all become during our lifetime, heroes or monsters...or both, is much easier to absorb -- and understand -- if we don't have to turninward for answers.
Two species intertwined for thousands and thousands of years, one dependent on the other, the other sometimes dreaming of becoming like theother... and now both facing extinction.
The above, and more, is what we were thinking when we cameto the conclusion that perhaps there was still some virgin creative space leftto explore!
"Drawing Blood," the first book in the RELICT SERIES, is oureffort to back up what we believe. But we cannot live without your blood beinginvolved in this creative venture. So we hope you'll agree that's there's stillplenty of "life" left in another story about vampires.
And that you will hang with us... before and after the sunset.
