DREAM ON had such a unique ability of keeping the reader on edge, with an undeniable urge to never put the book down. The characters are all captivating and mysterious in their own ways, creating a storyline that's difficult to find in most other books. Aaron Patterson has blended sci-fi, love, drama and action all into one, making this book speak on all levels of life. Expect to be consumed. Expect to finish....and want MORE! --Samantha S. --Sam
I read the first book by Aaron Patterson (Sweet Dreams) and was very anxious for this sequel. I was not disappointed. This book kept me guessing with every page turn. It's very well written and I really enjoyed the technology employed which makes it just a bit futuristic without being over done. This was a fantastic suspenseful thriller that kept me guessing throughout the entire book. Mr. Patterson has become my favorite fiction writer. Donna Hurst Boise, ID --Donna

I don't know what a hard-boiled thriller is, but if it means it's gory, that is true. This book loses credibility right away, then goes downhill from there. The main character's powers changed abruptly, with no clue as to how, and too-convenient timing. There were gaps in the story, making it confusing and scattered. It was unclear in what time the story was set, because the technology seemed impossible, and background was missing. It started as a detective thriller, then jumped into fantasy, and poorly thought out fantasy at that. The point of view changed too often. Sometimes a character was introduced so he/she could be killed immediately. Other characters were not explained. This author can't spell, keeps using "off of," and says about a character, "Solomon kept everything in a place." Really? There were too many loose ends. It's not worth reading, even for free.
Will we ever learn all about Mark Appleton? You'll have t read the next book. Isis reminds me of the Chinese chick in Agents of Shield on ABC. Kirk is something of a misnomer and is given the ability to not decide anything. I can imagine Kirk and Isis together. Falling in love with your kidnapper? Stranger things have happened. Will Solomon reappear? What does mark possess, the power to do anything? Stay tuned...
I read the first installation of this series and enjoyed it. I'm not sure if I can say the same about Part 2. The author starts with a great plot about a terrorist and his goal to control the world (sound familiar?) But after reading half the book, the overall feel of the book is fantasy, not suspense. And frankly, the fantasy is a little too fantastic for me. I enjoyed the character of Mark Appleton in the first book but he's really changed now. Overall, buy this book if you're curious about part 2, but be ready to be a bit disappointed.
I enjoyed the first book, so had to read this one. It was good with alot of action, however, really out there!! The character, THE RED DOG was not believable, what he could do & get away with was beyond anything I have ever read. I would read another Mark Appleton story though, as I feel this character is starting to develop & get more interesting. I would like to see the plot be a little more real.
