In this romance an atheist Australian lawyer, based in London, suddenly starts having experiences that lead her to question her rationality. Her yearning to meet a man she really loves unfolds with an increasing inter-meshing of present life and past lives. What is revealed from the past helps to explain the present and rationality finds its place along side her spiritual experiences.
The story engaged me but I didn't take me in enough to silence my fact or fiction wondering- although that would probably that the metaphorical genius of an Isabel Allende to do that. The author does a laudable job of spinning the elements together and my curiosity would draw me into reading future books in the series.
I have no recollection of past lives but it would explain the many intriguing aspects of life circumstances and the distinct characters and characteristics we are born with, and which often run against reason.
My dreams, however, seem to have held a goal in mind for my future, in total contrast to my conscious goals, and which I was able to decipher and piece together only IN RETROSPECT, leading me to ask "Is Life Predetermined?" and sending me "In Search of the Clues".
These clues have led me to the conclusion that from the start there was a set purpose for my life. Finally discovering what that purpose was has liberated me and raised me above any mundane worries.
Now I want to get to know this writer and find out the truth disguised as fiction.
I gave this book a 5 star because of its uncompromised and courageous expose of the soul.
Post and present collide in an amazing way. Maybe she did experience it or maybe not. You have to decide it for yourself.
What a great way to put that into an enchanting book.
