Carter, aka Candy, is the one with the baggage. She wears her fears and insecurities on her sleeve (most of which are cotton candy pink). She's trying to move on from the AH ex but is afraid to trust her own judgement.
Nick is patient but he runs over all her fears and replaces them with all things Nick.
And the parents. His, who are loving but with a father who is demanding in his expectations of Nick's career path. Hers, whose father happens to be Nick's trainer and shouldn't know of their relationship, happens to have the sweetest little surprise that had me laughing out loud. Oh, the dads are fun.
Then there's the siblings, each manipulative in their own right. His-a biotch. Hers-telling her to let loose and have some fun yet warning her away from Nick.
Their HEA is romantic and fun and I totally loved it!!
When I first started reading Drive, I just knew I would fall head over heels in love with Nick. And I did. Nick was such a lovable character, and the more I kept reading, the more I realized I couldn’t get enough. Nick is fun, kind, loyal, and he’s the perfect book boyfriend. The main thing I liked about him was how he didn’t just give up. I wish I could’ve loved Carter the same, but boy did she frustrate me. At first I liked her, but then she would move backward when I just wanted her to move forward. Character development is such a key role in most books, but I really felt Carter didn’t grow as much as I thought she would.
Overall, Drive was by far the best book I’ve read from Jacob. It had a really strong storyline, and it kept me interested until the end. I would’ve also like to see more sports scenes, but it didn’t take away from the book. It was definitely a very sweet and romantic book, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for something light and funny to read.
Nick and Carter are a darling couple. This guy is too good to be true. Funny, thoughtful, a football player from a major college and he relentlessly pursues Carter. Carter is a woman jilted by her ex-fiancé and tries her hardest to not fall in love.
Why the 4 star? College senior falls in love with woman a few years older they have sex with no mention of using birth control or protection from STDs. I expect some responsibility even of my book characters. 😏 There were some minor editing issues. In the end I will be adding his other books to my read list.
I had so much fun reading this book. Nick and Carters witty humor and sexy overtures had me laughing out loud so many times. Is there anything better than a man who is hot, sexy and can keep you laughing? I think not! I married a funny guy and they are the best!
Bravo Jacob!! I was totally #nickstracted 😍💯
I like Carter, she's sweet and kind, but needed to let loose and not be such a people pleaser. Enter Nick. He loves to have a good time and will stop at nothing to get Carter to live it up a little. Drive is a fun and sweet romance. I look forward to more books from Jacob Chance!
I laughed, I swoon and I couldn't put this book down.
If you want to fall head over heels for the sweetest, funniest and also the hottest book boyfriend you'll ever know. Read Drive, now!
