- Reviewed in the United States on October 22, 2024Size: Buck Boost 5.5-30V to 0.5-30V 4AVerified PurchaseAs reported earlier, I am generally very pleased with the quality and appearance of the buck boost converter board. As I reported, there appear to be inaccuracies in the ammeter current readings for unit output, but these seem to be on the order of 15ma or so (high). For very small loads on the order of 20ma, this can be significant. However, for larger loads to 2A or 3A, this may be completely acceptable. Voltage readouts for input and output are very accurate and stable. Overall, this appears to be a fine product, and I have rated at 5 stars.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 23, 2024Size: Buck Boost 5.5-30V to 0.5-30V 4AVerified PurchaseI have a sprinter van that has been converted to a camper. It's powered by a battery pack which works well, except that my LED lights would flicker and you could hear the exhaust fan slow when the diesel heater would kick on. The load was well within the battery pack's capacity, but I could see the output voltage drop when the the heater cycled on (I assume the glow plug).
I used this Boost Buck converter to stabilize the lighting and fan circuits (one each) and now have no problem.
It seems well made, has many more features than I need (adjustable, display, etc), is reasonably priced, and solved the problem!
- Reviewed in the United States on September 4, 2024Size: Buck Boost 5.5-30V to 0.5-30V 4AVerified PurchaseThis works well. It pushes the voltage up or down. I have it hooked to a 12v battery and then attached a female USB port to the output at 5vdc. But once you connect battery power the input the display is on all the time, wasting battery power. It's easy enough to put an inline switch in, but it could use one added on in the next version.
The display has 2 numbers, it shows input voltage as the top number (so I can monitor my battery charge) and the bottom number can switch between amps and watts. The same applies to the output voltage.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 3, 2024Size: Buck 5.3-32V to 1.2-32V 12AVerified PurchaseDidn’t realize assembly would be required. No soldering, just attaching precut acrylic to provide protection to the module and sticking on a heat sink.
Once assembled I ran 20v in and adjusted to get 12 volts out.
Adjustment is very fine, to the hundredth of a volt. Output was very steady and voltage remained where I set it even after disconnecting and recharging the battery I was using as a power source several times.
Instructions were unfortunately the typical poor English you receive with this sort of thing. A diode was also included but not referenced in the instructions. Maybe I missed it but not sure why it was in the package.
Overall this was a huge improvement over using an inverter to create 110v only to have another power supply turn that into 12 volts. Run time that way was 5ish hours. Keeping everything DC I get a runtime of about 10 hours
- Reviewed in the United States on February 7, 2023Size: Buck 5.3-32V to 1.2-32V 12AVerified PurchaseGood to reduce and control both voltage and amperage. To the first time buyer, the instructions can be overwhelming, but after testing it out and putting it to use it is easy to understand how this item works. It worked well for my application to reduce the lithium battery voltage down to 12 volt car lead battery levels. Some items cannot handle the higher lithium voltage and this brings down the voltage and controls the amps to provide the needed wattage. I've order several to deal with items I don't want to "fry" and they all work like a charm. Recently, one was received that did not control the current, but I think that was a fluke! I will receive a replacement soon, and I ordered an additional one as well.
This is easy to understand as other companies provide controllers that is hard to understand and not really sure if those will do what I need. To the common person, this one is easy. Voltage in, Voltage out. Then change the amps to get the needed wattage. That's how a simple common person thinks, and in the application, it powers my RV fan.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 7, 2022Size: Buck 5.3-32V to 1.2-32V 12AVerified PurchaseI had a need to charge some LiFePo cells, so I was searching for a variable power supply capable of some amps. Most use AC, but my solar setup runs 24V. The prospect of going from 24VDC -> AC -> 3.65VDC, surely there had to be a way to remain fully within the DC realm. And this lovely device fit the bill. A DC buck converter is the name of what I wanted, and curiously, there doesn’t seem to be a super wide selection.
I must say, this device is well done enough for my purposes. Could the terminals be a bit more robust? Sure. Could they ship a more expensive version with better cooling to support more amps for sustained periods of time? Sure. Is there a way to recalibrate it so the display voltage matches the actual voltage? Would be nice, although not that far off (definitely have a voltmeter on hand to check).
But: for what they have, and what I need, it definitely serves its purposes.
This is actually my second, I accidentally fried the output on my first by connecting a power source, but the thing still powers on and recognizes input voltage, and didn’t just burn up entirely. Maybe I will investigate what was damaged and resolder parts to revive it. But I was that satisfied with the operation of the first that when my own error occurred, my need persisted, and I had no reservations buying another. They are relatively inexpensive, and for my uses have not given me any problems.
They also have some other devices (buck, boost, and I think a buck/boost), with different ranges and throughputs, so depending on your needs, they may have a model that best suits your particular use case.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 17, 2024Size: Buck 5.3-32V to 1.2-32V 12AVerified PurchaseThis power converter was the perfect solution to the fluctuating electrical power supply coming from my solar panels on the roof of my 2015 Ford transit 250 van to the Max fan that I mounted on the roof. It came unassembled and was easy to put together. And it’s small enough to tuck away in a small opening in the vans sheet metal and looks really good too with the protective plastic pieces that go on the top and bottom of the assembly. I’m relieved to have this safety feature in my wiring to the fan motor so I don’t have to worry about changing it anytime soon.. I highly recommend installing one in the power supply line for your electronics

BrandonReviewed in Canada on October 31, 20245.0 out of 5 stars Works well. Converts my 20V, 5A input to 5V 12A
Size: Buck 5.3-32V to 1.2-32V 12AVerified PurchaseI bought a USB-C trigger module and programmed it to output 20V, 5A. However, I needed more amps to heat 18AWG Nichrome wire to 300C.
This buck converter took the input of 20V, 5A (Measured with a Fluke 117 Multimeter) and outputted 5V, 12A consistently (also measured with the same multimeter).
I tweaked it later on to output 5V, 8A which is more than enough for my application. It works flawlessly.
A bit on the pricey side, but it is flawless.

Size: Buck Boost 5.5-30V to 0.5-30V 4AVerified PurchaseThe converter is well designed, including the plastic case. The additional barrel connector at the input is very convenient. Not the best in terms of efficiency, but considering it is a buck-boost, it is still good. Great value for the money IMHO!
