The output voltage can be higher or lower than the input voltage, turn the small screw on top of the pot to regulate the output.
With a voltmeter, press S1 to switch among three working mode: input voltage mode, output voltage mode and Alternate mode.
The starting state can be set freely by long pressing S1, three memory mode: [0] [1] [2] mean default display IN or OUT or IN/OUT alternate voltage.
On the right side is another momentary switch that is for turning the output on and off, you don't have to disconnect it to turn off whatever you have connected, more convenient to control the output.
Adopted high-power MOS tube to protect the circuit in case of connecting reversely, improve efficiency and reliability; the workmanship is excellent.

It does exactly what it claims it will do, HOWEVER...It would be nice to have a spec sheet indicating the maximum current allowable and detailing exactly what the led is trying to indicate. Sure, I can guess, but it costs almost nothing to put a small piece of paper in with the item. BUT, no matter how you look at it, this item is a TERIFFIC BARGAIN! I probably will buy another one or two just to have on hand. First use is to regulate a 24 volt dc fan for cooling a NVR. I need it to be just fast enough to cool adequately without making a lot of noise. Second use is to convert 12 volts from a gel cell which is charged by a solar panel down to 5 volts needed for the camera. Nifty item for sure. Addendum: After using this item I must add that this item is ABSOLUTELY AN INCREDIBLE BARGAIN! One could barely purchase one or two components on the board for what the entire item is selling for. The connector blocks are solid and will take quite a bit of torque without stripping anything. The voltage displayed is within 1% of exact as compared to a newly calibrated Fluke 289 meter. The variable pot is smooth and easy to adjust to exactly the value you desire. It does have plastic or delrin standoffs to protect the traces. I would love to see the current handling capacity specs on this item. I like it so much that I purchased another one to convert 12 vdc to 5dc for a surveillance camera. I have NO idea how a seller can produce such a high quality item and sell it for such a low price. But, NO complaints here. In addition, the workmanship is excellent. No rosin slop and quality solder joints.

These DROK Buck Boosters are awesome. They don't cost a whole lot, and they work great for home projects. I use them for many different projects, but mainly for designing circuits for LED chips, so I can raise or lower the voltage to whatever I need without worrying about using different DC power supplies for different LED chip sizes. The LED display is nice to have so that I can dial in on a specific voltage with out having to set up my multimeter. These are really easy to operate, and can be used for a broad spectrum of DIY electronic projects. Simply connect the power source to the two connections on the left side and tighten down the screws. Then attach the wires for the output on the other side in the same fashion. Once you add power, the display will come one in one of 3 modes. The first mode will display only the input voltage, the second will display only the output voltage, and the third mode will alternate between the two. Use the small black momentary switch on the left to switch between the modes, and if you select a mode then hold the switch down, the mode that you have selected will become the new default mode that it will set too every time you turn it on. Just above the display is the a potentiometer for adjusting the output voltage. Since this is a Buck/Boost converter, you can adjust the output to be lower or higher than the input voltage. Just turn the small screw on top of the pot to regulate the output. On the right side is another momentary switch that is for turning the output on and off, so you don't have to disconnect it to turn off what ever you have connected. It comes as a basic board with 4 nylon spacers under each corner, so that you don't short it out setting it on something. These are really cool gadgets, with a lot of projects that they can be used for and are a very good cost. I have two of them right now and both have been working great. Just an example of their quality, I will explain on of my tests I preformed. I took 2 rechargeable Lithium 18650 Batteries and wired them up in series giving me a voltage of 3.7 volts, which I connected to the input. I then wired up a 12 volt 10 watt LED chip to the output side. I started off low, and gradually raised the voltage from the batteries all the way up to 12 volts, powering the LED to full strength. This converter was able to handle that with no problem, but you could hear a small electrical whine coming from it from boosting the voltage up so far. It can boost the voltage all the way up to 25 volts, although boosting it this much will cause some heat and you will need to supply some sort of active cooling, such as a fan, to prevent it from frying itself. Over all I am extremely satisfied with these, and plan on grabbing some more to have on hand for other projects.

I bought this little converter to help protect sensitive automotive diagnostic equipment from battery sags and alternator spikes - and to ensure programming and such doesn't get broken by them! I opted for this specific model because of the integrated LCD, as it also doubles as a battery monitor during these procedures. It's very nice to be able to know when the battery charge is dropping off *before* you have a problem. I designed a 3D-printable enclosure that works pretty well - it's on Thingiverse for easy download, and pictured below.

Works well in steady-state, but slow on big changes / turn-on. You can't just set the current and let the voltage be anything -- the turn-on surge before it corrects the voltage for the current draw can destroy your device if you're not careful.

work well but requires a power on reset

I wanted to use this inside an enclosure for stable power in a project, the problem is that it requires a physical reset each time it is powered up. There is a small DPST momentary push button you must press to enable the output. Now I must either rework the board to add an external switch on the front of the cabinet, or find another regulator. I bought a buck/boost to give me a stable 12V regardless of the charge state of a sealed lead-acid 12V battery. This does a good job of regulation, but that reset is the reason for only 3 stars, otherwise I'd give it 5 stars for function and price.
