Purchased this to run a wireless router and raspberry pi in my car and it does that flawlessly, and with the load I'm putting on it, not even getting warm (around 1A draw from each device for 2A total load, so this has plenty of headroom) Very happy with the results!

I bought this to power an LED display off of a 12V battery (solar) system. After only ~2A load, the output has a terrible sawtooth with 6.2V peaks. I don't have a capacitor bank large enough to test the actual amp-pushing output of this device, but based in the width of the pulses I dare say it will not keep up.

I needed a steady 5v line for an LED array. I plugged this into a 12v 3A power supply and ran a stable 5.02v line drawing 4.4Amps without any significant heat and very steady output, even as I flashed the array off and on. I was quite pleased. Everything is sealed up very well, so I fully expect it will be waterproof. I ended up buying 2 more of the 10 Amp versions to expand my array.

50 watts of clean DC power on 5 volts, what more is there to say? Above 25 watts of output the case gets warm but does its job at keeping the components in check. Currently using this for a five-port USB charging station in my vehicle. For non-apple device charging just wire up the power outputs on this unit to a usb jack. If you want to make the port Apple compatible just google "instructables apple charger resistor" and click the instructables link. One more thing, you will need 65 watts on the 12/24V side to get 50 watts out of the 5v side, be sure to size your wires and fuses accordingly! I have not tested the waterproof claim.

This is a great unit if you need steady 5V input in a vehicle, I have used some other build your own type circuits and the voltage would always vary slightly based on the input voltage. This unit is steady as a rock, measured at varying automotive voltages 12.5V, 11.8V, 14.4V, & 13.5V, this unit read 5.01V across all these voltages and when applying a 2Amp-3Amp varying load the voltage did not change at all. Ran a Continuous test while driving vehicle with battery voltage varying between 13.3-14.4 and load approx 2A, only varied from 5.01V to 5.00V during this run. A 0.01V variation could be from my test meter alone. Excellent unit will definitely use again if needed!

I live full time in a motorhome. This little gizmo disappeared a half dozen wall warts. I have at least three devices attached at any given time, fed through an old USB hub, it's been working great. So for me it's a double win... i can charge from solar and i don't need to keep all these adapters. I've had as much as ~4 amps through it and it hasn't even gotten warm.

I bought this item from a different site thru the same vendor and the converter works fine if the body is NOT grounded. There is a definite short if the body is grounded. I don;t know if this is happening with only my converter. I'm using this to power up my Nexus 7, USB hub and the charge port in my Car.

I hacked into two USB extension cables, soldered them to the 5V output of this converter, and attached the converter's input to switched 12V in my car. Device works perfectly, and charges two devices very quickly.
