4 Stars because I've only used it a couple of time but very impressed with it's operation. I am an Amateur Radio Operator (Ham) and was looking for a way to step down the voltage from a a 4 cell Lithium Ion Battery Pack (about 17.4 VDC with freshly charged batteries) to approximately 13.8 VDC for my HF QRP (Low Power) portable radio. This item (commonly called a "Buck" converter) did the job nicely. One concern was RF interference from the device...so far...none noted. That is a very big deal when your trying to receive and send the cleanist RF signal possible. By FCC regulations, we 'Hams' have to stay within certain boundaries and this item seems to fit the bill for my use. Very please so far. RWeeks, Arkansas, Callsign. AF5AF

Good product, with some quirks

Currently it works as expected, you supply it an input voltage and select an output voltage, with a 1 volt buffer, meaning if you input 12v you can't select higher then 11v. If the input voltage drops below the specified output, it simply outputs the input voltage. The fan is a bit noisy, as expected for its size, however, since it's mounted behind my dash in my car to drive my LED DRL's, it hardly noticeable.

I would have given a full 5 stars, except that the terminals aren't secured down well, so you have to be careful not to over torque the terminals or you might bend them. I bent mine a bit, though it didn't seem to effect the functionality.

Overall a good product, I'll update with a more long term review once I see how it handle the heat in the car over the summer.

Works as expected

Great regulator. Extremely stable. So far I have used it with 20 volt input and 15, 12 volt ouptut. So far I have only tested it with 5 Amps draw but the unit stayed very cool. I would recommend this item.

I have an AC to DC 30 volt power supply with a variable output from 23 to 32 volts. But I needed to control the voltage output from 0 to 30 volts for the sole purpose of controlling output amperage as resistance decreased. I called the company I purchased the power supply from to find out if they had an add on component that could be used in conjunction with my power supply to deliver the desired results. The short answer was, no way, can't be done. They said that they had nothing or knew of anything that could be used to lower the voltage output of my power supply.
