I used this stuff to patch a hole in a cement retaining wall where dirt was pouring through. I had no idea what I was doing. I followed the recipe, jammed the stuff in there as best I could, it dried, it held, problem solved! Amazing!

This is the only patching product I have found that is DIY vertical cement patching for the non-handyman homeowner . There are a few do it yourself recipes (found on youtube) that can save you a lot of money if you have a huge patch job. However, they do not give exact measurements, and therefore has no real guarantee that you will get the same product and hence the same result. So for me (and my projects, big and small) I chose this. Most patch jobs don't require more than a few buckets, nd the product is easily removed from all the equipm. The finished project looks very nice, and if you follow all the instructions good as new. Only thing I would add (that isn't in the videos or instructions) is some waterproof gloves since I am way on the messy side, and it ends up all over my hands and arms for the duration of the project! It is essentially wet quick-drying sticky cement . . . I looked a tad reptilian for a few days. But I added gloves after that first project; completely scale-less ever since!

Since I am a novice and never worked with concrete mixes before, I did follow the directions, and added ice to my bucket of water per the directions to use colder water for a slower set time. Also, I found that working very early in the morning when the temperature outside was still cool made a big difference. By 9:30 am (in Savannah in June) the mix was setting twice as fast as when i started my project 2 hours earlier.

Leak repair?

I ordered one of these and it was delivered on April 18th 2020 and the date stamped on the top was 10/19/2019. Not sure what the date stands for but I use this to repair cracks in a block wall. follow directions with a 1 to 3 ratio mix and after 1 week it all fell off the wall. I am not sure how this would seal any leaks.it was easy to mix and easy to apply.. you have to work really fast but it did not serve my purpose. Tried a second container that was delivered on April 27th 2020 with a date stamped on top of the material as to 2-20-2020. Same results. Will update when I get to the basement wall

Eleven inches; still standing pat

Bought this product 11-26-15 to repair the base of a single foundation seam that had finally leaked after a prior professional fix done some 25 years earlier. The small, pesky leak was about 1 inch above the floor and I wanted to repair it before ice and snow run would cause greater problems. In Missouri we have had record breaking rainfalls and a one inch rain the first week of December came before I could get my patch up. I waited a couple of days for the leaking to stop but a small seepage persisted and I went ahead V-chiseled from the base up along the seam for about six
inches. I applied a mix slightly on the dry side but a filmy moisture persisted and by the following morning the seepage had returned.

I waited a couple of weeks for the wall to completely dry and repeated the process this time with a wetter mix. I wanted to get it done before the Christmas holidays as we expected house guests and there was a forecast for more rain starting 12-26-15. Our guests arrived early and your correspondent got tied up with darling twin granddaughters and a second patch never happened. You know how it is. The rains came Christmas night with no let up. I checked the basement Saturday morning expecting the worst but it was bone dry and stayed that way through three days of monsoon-like conditions with total accumulation of eleven inches. The basement is still dry as I write this.

For now, I'm skipping the 2nd patch; I don't want to jinx myself. I'm standing pat.

Stopping Water Flooding from bathroom to closet

After having to give my 96 year old father a emergency shower not in the shower stall but in the area between the toilet & the shower stall. I found that water had seep underneath the wall behind the toilet into the adjoining closet soaking the carpet. Drylok seemed to be the best solution to seal the wall to the floor. I made small batches to fill the 3 sides then made 1 last batch to smooth everything out. Since I’m putting wood vinyl plank flooring over the tile I wasn’t concerned about cleaning the drylok off it. I just smoothed it out on the tile. It’s workable time is short but making small batches make it easy to mix & get in place before it started setting. And it’s also easy to to build up. I don’t plan to have to get the floor flooded again but in case it happens I know the water will stay in this area not flood to other rooms.

I let it dry overnight and it's holding like a champ and dried a soft gray which matched the concrete of the pond. I'm very satisfied. The cost is so low I honestly didn't expect it to be this good.
