The temperature meter seems to work pretty good. I wanted it because I needed four channels and I also wanted some way to save the data to the PC and view it live if needed. The software that they have is pretty old, you probably have already read about that but it does work under Win8.1 64 bit. They use a Microchip brand device inside the meter for the USB communications and you will need to go download the latest version of mchpcdc.inf driver, just search for it and you can find an installer. You can't just install this driver directly because its old also and not signed. So, go search for installing unsigned drivers in Windows 8.1 and follow the directions. Now that you have the driver installed plug the temp probe into the PC's USB port. It will recognize it as a COM port. I had to tell Windows to use the driver I just installed by manually pointing to it. Now it all works. If you just want a plug and play its not going to be quite that easy with new Windows versions but it does work.

The usb port on the thermometer body is a 3.5mm jack, similar to what you see on headphones. This is a poor choice, or made poorly applied: a dodgy connection at first, and it only got worse.

After only a few uses, the port fails to make usable contact with the thermometer at all.

Too bad; if it weren't for that, it would have been a quality product.

The software does not work, there is no support available that I could find to help make it work. In short you do not get all that you pay for with this product. This will be the LAST UEi product that I will purchase, ever.

So far it's good used it couple of times still getting used to all the functions not so easy to lookup thru the menus and settings but worth the price for what it can do compared to some overpriced ones

I really love this meter. It works great! Its rugged, well made, and accepts different types of probes. Software wasn't the greatest, but I did not purchase it based on the software feature. When I need to log data for any amount of time, I use stand alone temperature/humidity data loggers for that. Great meter.

Nice unit for the money. Cheaper then most any I found that supported many probes types and 4 input. Logging functions are limited but effective for our needs. Scrolling functions limited but useable.
Software seems ok but first thing you want to do is download the logs and put in excel spreadsheet. Print out options very very limited from software. Glitch shows wrong probe type all the time in printout and could not find any help to speak of. Hope they upgrade or update software for PC. Still at this price (about $170) did not find comparable with 4 input and many probes types of support.
