DUBS Acoustic Filters Ear Plugs give you the freedom to do just that with our proprietary sound muffling design that reduces overall volume while preserving sound fidelity. The result is pure protection in damaging midrange frequencies. MULTI-USE While these plugs excel at common noise cancelling uses, they’re built to handle much more. Noise-induced hearing loss is a common occupational hazard that can be overcome. There was a problem filtering reviews right now. Please try again later.
Anyway, I think these need a redesign on how they connect the rubber bit to the plastic body containing the filter.
These might work well for an airplane or office to dull down loud noises, but they are not for concerts or loud music type situations. My foam Hearos do much better at blocking out sound and keeping me comfortable, although I was hoping for something that wouldn't sacrifice the sound quality.
UPDATE: The first two tournaments I wore these to were fine, but at the 3rd, I went to put them back in my ears after removing them briefly and the round earpiece had broken off in my ear. Fortunately, I was able to remove it, but they are basically broken. Unfortunately, I am a few weeks late for the one month return policy. I checked some other 1- and 2-star reviews and noticed others have had the same issue. Why hasn't the seller fixed them? Don't waste your money until they do.
I expected these would hurt after a few hours of use, but I was happy to be mistaken. I also used these with my drum set, just to get a feel for how they performed in that type of setting, and found similar results--volume reduced to levels that didn't hurt/cause ear-ringing later and clarity in sound that I'd never experienced using ear plugs with my drums in the past.
The case these come in is simple, but well-made, and the plugs do feel like they're not going to fall apart on me any time soon.
Bottom Line: These are superb earplugs and for a fraction of the price of custom-fitted plugs, you can't go wrong!
Within a couple of days, the glue failed on one where the rubber pad/seal is attached to the body of the ear plug itself. So, I ended up with that thin, rubber sleeve jammed up inside of my ear. I probably should have gone to the doctor, but I had a family member look to see if it was safe/possible to fish the darned thing out of my ear with a pair of tweezers.
Luckily, I didn't end up needing to go to the doctor, but my family member barely could reach the rubber sleeve safely, so it was close.
From reading other reviews here, this doesn't seem to be an isolated problem, so I'm not wearing my second pair now either. Yay. More money wasted on cheaply made junk.
