The audio didn't work at first for me.
But my audio drivers were installed by windows 7 when I put windows on my computer.
I loaded the audio drivers from my drivers disk that came with my mother board.
And it worked perfectly. I gave up on dish, and stream from my computer. Now I can connect dvi to hdmi with audio
To my tv.

I used this to adapt the DVI output of a small PC to the HDMI input of a Sharp HD LCD TV. For some reason there would be some sort of static or ground issue that would cause the loss of display on the TV. Cycling the inputs doesn't solve the issue, to cure the problem I would have to unplug the TV and restart. This might be an issue unique to the combo I am using so I can't say you would experience the same thing.

I bought this item, specifically for the audio, so I was disappointed that part of it didn't work. Maybe I got an inventory that was bad, but since I have already thrown away the box, I just decided to eat the cost. Not writing this to deter anyone from buying this item, just sharing my experience, because I was asked.

This item throughs off a lot of hum...I used it to adapt my DVI out on my computer to HDMI into my sound system. Hum is low but its there and it sort of ruins the experience with headphones and louder music. Not sure if spending more would help
